Hey everybody,

I called AEM yesterday and a gentleman told me that the CAI has been released. You can order it from them or from one of their retailers. They also have something in their news section. http://www.aempower.com/ViewNews.aspx?NewsID=70

Enjoy,SV

The website says:

"Dyno results and a description of AEM’s dyno and temperature testing procedures are on the company’s website at http://www.aempower.com. "however, I can't find this data. Did someone already find it?

Sorry I can't find it either. Would be good to know how much it adds to the car.

outta curiosity would this void my warranty? I previously had one on my old civic but it wasnt new. I liked the gains from it and all but i am worried about adding it to a new car .

The only warranty you can void is the TPMS sensor (I think it is this sensor) and that is if the CAI is installed improperly which would lead to getting dust inside the piping which would damage it. The sensor is $500 CA. Also I guess if you drive in deep water and let water get in your engine...

Not unless the intake causes some malfunction that's related to the intake, which is highly unlikely.

Exactly, which proves the point that a intake is quite safe. I am still curious on that dyno chart though.

Do you mean the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor)?

Here in Houston, we measure our puddles in feet. We have problems with flash floods often. The water drains out of the city quickly, but not quick enough most times. So you'll get 1-3 foot puddles and whole streets being flooded out, but the water will drain within hours. Here you may drive through a relatively small puddle of water, but a big rig comes and hits your car with a nice wake and you're stalled. I'm only going to install a warm air intake because of our water issues. Unless I can get a hold of a water bypass, I won't install a true CAI.

the air bypass works for most cars. they have a article where the creator of the bypass puts his acura NSX to the test. they rig a cai and have the filter fully submerged in a tank of water. After the test was completed the engine didn't suck up a drop of water and everything was ok. my explanation is pretty crappy but all this means is if you have a bypass your good to go.

proxim-- When i had my 02 SE-R spec V I rolled around houston with my nismo cai and had no problems at all even going to UH main campus, and we both know how bad it floods there

Thanks for the link. I knew that the bypass blocked water, but I didn't know exactly how it did it. This was a nice detailed explanation.

VersaSpeed.com has them up for sale.

The intake that this topic discusses was made specifically for the V. Maybe I'm not understanding correctly.

One member was involved with the R&D of this unit and I believe he has his installed now. I'm sure he will pop up in this thread eventually and maybe we can get some pictures and feedback from him. Don't expect anything close to a big increase in power, the most you will get out of it is a much better sound and slightly better fuel economy. This is not to say that you should not get it, but if money is tight, wait it out until you get some reviews that may convince you. I will probably get mine paired up with a new exhaust, probably Tanabe unless Magnaflow or perhaps Borla makes a catback, although Borla would probably make an axleback, as they usually do for cars such as the V. A CAI works best with a new exhaust, as proxim has convinced me a few months ago.

I will be having mine installed in the next day or two and will post pictures as soon as installed (been gone and catching up on everything). Along with AEM's strut bar to show what is available from them at this moment.

I have had a AEM CAI on my Nissan Titan since they first came out and have not had a problem and must have about 50,000 plus miles with it on.

I do in fact have mine installed. You can check out my cardomain (link in my sig) for my review and pics. You can't see much in the pics but it will give a general idea of what you will see when the hood is up.

In regards to driving in water, even in my lowered v the intake still has about 18 inches of clearance from the ground. You probably should'nt be driving through a puddle that deep in this car anyway but if you do the air bypass would do the job of keeping water out.

If you go to the versaspeed website you will see pictures of the AEM CAI installed along with the DC/AEM Strut Bar. The CAI sounds real good, gives the car a little more roar and I can't yet give a full comment on the Strut Bar or even the CAI because I just got it on but I really like the Strut Bar so far because I have a tendency to drive a little spirited and it seems to help and I mean quite a bit.

I will be installing the Tanabe axle back exhaust and springs next week......I hope....if I get the time! I received the NISMO Wheels 17's now to get the tires so there will be pictures there when that part of the project is done.

Coming soon will be the Extreme Dimensions front Bumper then I will see where I go from there.

As soon as the transaction is done it will be out the door. I think that anybody that has purchased from me can testify that I get things shipped with in a matter of minutes (no I'm not kidding) of when I receive word of an order. I'm lucky to be near both the main Post Office, FedEx and UPS so I just punch in the information in the computer....it spits out the label and out it goes! And if I run out of stock I am lucky that the main warehouse for all the companies is only forty minutes away and yes I will drive there and pick it up so it goes out that day! Of course if it's late in the day or the weekend I don't think any of these companies would like me to break in!!!! But if I get the order in the morning during the week it will go out that day.

Oh, if I find a faster and cheaper method of getting it too you and the order says that it cost x amount of dollars to ship and I can get it done cheaper I refund the difference!

Sound good?

Not a problem, just email me and we can get it done.

Just a note.......I noticed now that I have the CAI installed it has dropped my 0-60 times by two seconds and I gained thirty more hp it fixed the TPMS light and if that wasn't enough I get ten more miles per gallon!...........................NOT! But has been an improvement over the stock set up.
