Im interested in getting a CAI for my versa 1.6. Im mostly interested in improved gas mileage and the sound CAI creates. So what do i do first? I dont really know allot about this sort of thing.I already know where to buy from, but how do install? I heard its really simple.

Thanks

Not sure if any aftermarket company has brought one out for the 1.6L. Doubt the 1.8L CAI is the same.

Based on the Post the Tiida Nismo parts are available through dealers you could ask a dealership if they they have a Nismo CAI for the 1.6L.

And yes installation is pretty simple, just follow instructions.

Not trying to start anything... but the 1.6 is definitely not one for speed wether you throw on some bolt-ons or not.

I never planned on making this fast as i said aboveim only interested in higher MPG and that cool sound

CAI only adds about 2-3 HP anyway

so dont take this the wrong way

Alright I was looking at versaspeed and it says "This system will not fit the 1.6L Sedans. " on the fujita and aem cai's. I decided to take some pictures of my engine bay and cross reference them with bulld0g's pictures.

Dfc were you looking at the ones on versaspeed?

That guy wrote that he had someone from Tuning Concepts from austin texas go to panama to tune his car and that he got 55 extra hp after 4 runs? So if I get this guy to meet me at a dyno I can get 55 extra hp from my car after a little bit of tuning? I don't believe that lol.

YES the AEM CAI for the 1.8 fits the 1.6 -_-I talked to Sapphire Black about it he said it fit perfectly. He has the same 1.6 as I do so I'm purchasing it.As far as the 55hp gain from the tuning goes xD he neglected to mention or probably just forgot that he bought the Apexi AFC NEO Fuel Controller.. a pretty pricey piece of hardware, and thats what got tuned.

XD so true, but hey a car doesnt need to go 200mph to be fast Some people like a nice daily driver that has a little kick to it when they feel like it. Hell mine is gonna end up looking fast but not really that fast :P I'm more of a style guy, I like to make my things look nice, I think more companies need to start producing nice looking cars that dont have to have v10 engines just to look good...Like the Lotus Elise :P 1.8L, and you cant argue with that heh.

Well actually you can get it from him if you ask nice enough o.0 Not everyone really keeps dyno sheets lying around, and his Versa is flat-out the best one I've seen so I wouldnt doubt it, you realize you can program a tiny engine to get a ton of hp..Evo 8 is a 2.0 engine.. Lotus Elise is 1.8.. I mean programmed correctly most engines can get a huge boost.

Exactly. If the 1.8 isn't then the 1.6 would be useless for power. I've had experience with an intake on a Versa. I bought one when they went on sale. My experience with it? It did give that cool sound. But there was hardly any power gain felt and my mileage did not change any over several tanks. There was also some issue with it causing my gas pedal to vibrate and it was really annoying. I took it off because I thought I was going to have to sell my Versa at the time but I kept it. Luckily, I was able to sell the intake for almost what I paid and won't be putting another one on. Others may have a better experience or just like the sound it makes. Maybe coupled with other mods, it's better. However, If I could afford to do these mods, I would have just bought a faster car. I don't make much and the car note itself is a big chunk of change for the next few years.

im sure it fits the 1.6 i dunno if anyone has said that yet..the setup is pretty much the same. i dont think nissan changed much on the motor but the head. the throttle body and tube is still in the same location, the battery and crankcase breather tube.

my car does have the extra power and torque that I do feel, but it is no where near 55 more like 5HP MAX!!!

Fujita does claim 9HP though from the Dyno on the website.

Is there any dyno data in this forum? Something we can relate to?
