Hey everyone, got pulled over by 2 chick cops... no they weren't hot. they were ugly, witch i think explains there attitude towards me. n e wayz, they gave me 3 tickets, for my tinted windows/my registration/ and a ticket for my AEM intake not having a CARB sticker on it. my question is, IS the intake CARB legal in cali? If i call AEM will they send me a sticker if it is?

im tired of gettn pulled over, ( i ALREADY have 2 fix it tickets for my reg and windows) so i got a steamer and took the tint off my windows (steamer works EXTREMELY well just fyi), and i have paid my reg ( I have the receipt), i just have to pick up my stickers at the DMV, but its hard since i am a full time student going to school everday making a 96mile round trip AND having a job. i explained that to them and they seriously could have cared less and wrote me up again for 2 tickets i already have.

thnx everyone.

It should be CARB legal. I remember having a short ram intake on my '98 Civic and it had a CARB sticker. I checked AEM's website and it doesn't say anything about 50 state CARB legal for the V. We can also tint the front AND back windows down to 27%

Try to get a sticker for that so you don't get pulled over again man. Seems like California loves to pull people over and ticket for stupid stuff, good thing I don't live there.

Dude, we can trade places if you want, I'll live in CA for a month, you can live in CO for a month!

The AEM intake is CARB legal. Mine didn't have a sticker in the box and I called and they sent one over. I did have to give them a serial number that is on the intake piping. You should be able to get it by calling their customer service.

Of course they don't care. It's more about generating revenue than public safety, evident in the nature of the citations you received... none pose a danger to anyone, including yourself. Contact AEM. And if you want to strike back or get more help, contact SEMA.

The cops had it out for my co-worker's son and pulled him over every day for 2 weeks and ticketed him for his windows being too dark. She called down to the police department and they told her that on fix-its there is no "reasonable" amount of time allowed to get it fixed. They can just keep ticketing you until it's corrected and you have to pay the $30 or whatever it is for each ticket. Seems a little like over kill to me but I guess they have quotas to meet.

yah, it should be. mine didnt come with the CAI kit but came with the air bypass valve so i just stuck her on the intake pipe. CARB stands for California Air Resource Board i believe and is legal for use in california.

California should sink into the pacific to oblivion, we don't need them anymore. No offense to people who live there.

Oh really? If that were to happen you probably would be complaining about the lack of movies or music to entertain you. Seriously, where the F did that comment come from??

CARB regulations are a fact of life here along with sales tax. People just deal with it or find a work around. Life isn't much fun playing victim all the time.

they need to extend the fences in coors field at least another 35ft... but thats totally off topic... why do you hate cali so much? so many great things were pioneered out here like for instance the tuner scene... with out us what would the world be like? lame and boring ill tell you that rite now...

It's not that I don't hate the state, it's an awesome place, they just have some of the dumbest laws in the country. I've got family and relatives that live there. Plus, I've been there several times...Wouldn't mind going back

In cali, we're not allowed to hunt animales from a moving vehicle....unless it's a whale. just thought I'd throw that it.
