S13 all the way. The Ae86 is really cool, but it is also harder to find parts for. :batman

Wtf is with the "Æ"??? It's an A E 8 6. That is the chassis code. An "A" followed by and "E" followed by and "8" and lastly a "6." You can't compare which is better it's all preferrence. The AE86 came first.

Æ is a single Latin letter. Yes, that's right it's ONE letter. AE right next to each other would be TWO letters next to each other. An "A" and an "E." It does matter how you write it. You are writing it wrong.

the answer to this is the S13. Why?

Chassy flex and upgradeablity. Even the AE fans will tell you that it can only handle so much power.. while BIG power isnt needed for drift. 300 - 400 hp is nice. The AE's now (4)AGEing frames <get it? haha> stress and deforme under the torque.

Those things are pretty potent machines, even if they are built like s***. My friend has a 1993 5.0 GT, prestine condition. It ain't too bad for domestic POS. :pface

p.s: no one cares swift, just let it goooooo Æ86=AE86 for those who cant seem to understandI wrote it that because i felt like it, not because i thought that was the technical/official way of representing the Trueno

Well obviously, youre gonna get pro-Nissan responses. Try asking the same question at http://www.club4ag.com, an AE forum.

yea, i felt tat trueno is better than silvia's, even though i own a s13....i've never driven any 86's & haven't driven my silvia to the limit yet, it's juz the reputation of 86's makes me feel it's better

s13 is predictable & easy to "feel" the car....even for the first time driving the car

After 150hp or so you have to stiffen the ae86 unibody because it will flex and that is bad that it is. I know this is late but just felt it needed to be added.

Being in Japan....I'd say the Hachi is a better drift car then the 180(240). I drove my neighbors purpose built drift car a few weekends ago. The damn thing brakes traction with a simple clutch plug. For NA its a blast to drive, on the otherhand a guy I know has a superchrged version who cinsistently beats most BPU GTS-t Skylines in the 1320. You simply can't beat power to wt in the 1/4.

I like the S13 because the availbility of mods here in the states. I haven't really researched parts for an AE86. But I'm assuming it's harder to get parts since the AE86 was available for only two years here in the states.

I'll keep my response short. Get the S13! I'm a biased Nissan whore.

However, it's really up to you. I'm sure insurance is a lot cheaper for a 86 Corolla vs. a S13. Another thing to look into.
