Just look at the engine, see if they can give you a leak down and compression test on the engine. Ronald (owner of venus) seems pretty cool. My friend bought a vlsd from them and customer service was pretty good.

My one experience with Venus Auto was excellent. Got my CA18 front clip and it only had 30k Km on it. Never even made it to its first major service before L. Suwa (previous owner in JDM land) wrapped it around a tree or something. Of course this was in 2002, so I can't attest to their current state of operations. They also cut me a screaming deal and I got my front clip for $1000.

My one issue was that "overnite shipping," the company they ship/ped) with arrived at my house with a truck that had no means of unloading the clip, so we had to go to their distribution center with a trailer and get it. Kind of a pain.

there motor are pretty good. i bought two sr motors from them and i had no problems. they do compression test before they sell it to you and if you pick up the motor in person they let you pick out what motor you like. ronald's cool. you just got to know what you are looking for.
