okay, i am looking to lift my 2001 Pathfinder LE. i want to know which package i should pick. I am not going to do major offroading with my truck, it is mainly for appearance as well as tearing up the snow in the winter. i dont need the best shocks so don't go rampid on listing the most expensive.

Quote »Pathfinder Suspension Package Lift comprised of 4 coils which will give your unibody Pathfinder or Qx4 2" of lift when installed. Coils are powder coated black and can be installed by owner. Allow the use of 31" tires. Includes GR-2 front struts and Rancho RS5000 Shocks for the rear. Also includes strut tower mounts. Price - $685.00http://www.4x4parts.com/public...f92d8[/quote]this is the one i was thinking of. lmk what you all think of it.

also, list any other parts that i will need to make this lift work. i know i will need some sort of part to put the wheels back into alignment. if you know what they are, how many i need, and where i can get them, please jot that down as well

I've got this kit on my truck, except for the rancho shocks, since i put mine in at 45k and the stock shocks were fine at the time. Truck is now at 105K, and the springs have compressed a bit, but not much, proabbly less than 1/4 inch in the front. maybe a little more in the rear (heavy loads) - I also run the air lift bags in the back to help support the springs when i'm running a heavy load, in the hopes of keeping the truck high.

I've got no complaints, except that the front shocks WILL top out often unless you put on a heavy bumper + winch in the front. The colder it is, the more they will top out. Scary noise until you get used to it.

Personally I'd go for the set with the Rancho 9000's because they are adjustable, and if you ever carry heavy loads, or tow it would be nice to have.

I've got 265/70/16 Toyo Open country tires on the truck and there is no rubbing.

I'll see if i can dig up a pic for ya.l8rJim

I put my general experience in my post before the one where i posted my pic.

One other thing to add. Once you go bigger on the tires, you will either:- Not have a full size spare (factory spare)- Not be able to fit the spare into where the factory spare was (assuming you go bigger on the spare as well. - if you wheel you almost have to) - That means looking into a way to mount it elsewhere or take up interior space. I picked mounting it on the roof with a rack i welded together to mount onto the factory roof rack rails. bye bye good MPG!

Also 265/75/16 may not clear the strut on factory rims. make sure you choose a tire place that doesn't mind testing a few different tires for fit for you.
