So my car died (I needed to replace the engine). In lieu of throwing 5 grand out the window, I started checking out cars. I loved the 3.5, but seeing that I bought a house in August, and just had to replace the heat pump for 7 grand, I really didnt have that much moeny to throw around. I do about 100 miles a day for my commute, so I didnt feel too terrible about getting the V4.

What are all of your thoughts or recommendations about makin the v4 look pretty or should I not botehr.

(what the hell? a v4? it's an INLINE 4 cylinder, no v there)

just get a base 3.5SE and then you can add for dirt cheap aftermarket leather and NAV.

you can get a cheaper base 3.5SE 6MT than the 2.5S with cvt and stuff

100 miles a day? i'd say go for the 2.5 and throw a k & n drop in and leave it as is. you're not going to get the gas mileage in the 3.5 and you'll constantly be stomping the gas because it's just too damn fun of a car not to.

Still looks the same as the 3.5.

If mpg's are important...2.5 FTW for sure. You can debadge it too andas long as you don't boast or race it....who would know except you.

Oh,...and all of us.

Could you please clarify this a bit? If you are 'stomping the gas' in the 2.5, you'll get the same or worse mileage as the 3.5.

3.5 owners will tell you that you don't have to 'stomp the gas' to get pretty significant power, and with the CVT the revs don't even climb that much.

I'm sure the 2.5 can get better MPG than the 3.5, but I'd be curious to know what kind of MPG the 2.5 gets when you really get on it. Anyone?

Now why would you have to go and say something like that.

You're gonna spot me 60% larger displacement and still think you're faster?

All I can say is bring it. Punk.

If money is an issue, go with the cheaper and more efficient 2.5, but if you truly want a car that'll throw you back in your seat and to have some fun with, get a 3.5

its all on how you drive, the first episode of this seasons topgear, they raced a prius and a BMW M3. The prius had to go around the track as fast as possible, the M3 had to just keep up the prius. The prius did I think 14mpg and the M3 did 17mpg. I think I might be a bit off on the gas mileage but the M3 had better gas mileage then the prius.
