Hello All,

I am heading on a 3 thousand something miles road trip next friday i.e the 7th sept. I have owned my infiniti G 35 for 2 months and the sun was shining bright in Kansas throughout.

If you guys could provide me input on how the car performs in wet and or slippery roads i would appreciate it. Donno how the weather is going to be in the NY/Niagara area.

I believe in buckle up n drive safe (the papa john's slogan-used to deliver pizza's few yrs ago) but apart from that any feedback on what to do and what not to do will certainly help.

I got the oil change done and a complete courtesy inspection done by the local Nissan Dealer and everything seems good.

Last night i read the post about the G 20 (posted by SVTCOBRA) and thought it'd be a good idea to get some feedback from you all.

Thank you and Have a gr88 day -V

It has been a while since I have chimed in. Sorry. Do not and I repeat. Do not turn the VDC off in any circumstances. Thanks.

You'll be fine. Whether your car handles well on wet/slick roads really depends on your tires if its just rain. You won't hit snow if that's what you're thinking, not for another few months, and that's another story.

In regards to the VDC, you could turn it off if you wanted to, just turn it on if you hit rain for safety sake, but there's really no point to on a road trip. I go on an approximate 900 mile round trip once every 1.5 months and I've hit everything but snow (rain, high winds, sunny, maybe a combo of all 3 all at once; haven't driven mine Nov-April). My experience is very good in rain at 80 MPH, although if its heavy enough I'll slow down to 70-75 so that I can see well enough. With high winds, you'll hear it but hardly feel it in my experience.

My only advice is don't fall asleep, burn your music library to MP3 CDs, and entertain yourself with your G if it comes down to it.

Good, safe idea on the check up before a trip like that. Drive safe.

i live up in ny and the weather right now is fine. your car will be fine in any wet weather up here as long as you have decent tires.

As others have written your Tires and their condition are very important in wet weather and snow. Keep extra distance and if you have a stick use down shifting rather than braking in heavy rain or snow.We had a very bad ice & snow storm here in Central New Jersey last Valentines Day. I observed a SUV in front of me touch the brakes as the brake lights went on and the vehicle slid across two lanes of the Garden State Parkway in heavy slush and crash into the guard rail. I downshifted into 5th gear & just coasted thru the heavy slush with hardly a skid.

3k miles? You have to take a camera, and check in from the road. Post up some pics, and tell us how the drive is going!

Hello Friends,

I had a great road trip.

Wichita(KS)-Columbus(OH)-Niagara Falls(NY)-NY city-Atlantic city-Washington DC - Richmond VA-Columbus (OH)-Wichita for a total of 3985Miles.

My 03 G 35 gave me 23-24 mpg consistently. It was fun driving in the NE apart from the fact that the hilly VA and west VA were scary at night (did not forget the movie "wrong turn"...loll)

I followed the speed limit for most part. In the NY and Dc area no one seemed to follow the speed limit and hence i was flowing with them at 80 mph which was fun.

I donno if i am allowed to post non car pics else i'll be happy to post some.

Thank you all for your advice.

Wishes -V

Excellent pics! Was that your first time to NYC? I've been there twice and just cannot get over it all. So much history and so many landmarks. Going again next year to see the Yankees in their last season at the 84 year old Yankee Stadium. Of course I'll have to go in 2009 for the new Yankee Stadium too! (if I can get approval from the wifee---)

Anyway, thanks for posting the pics...Sounds and looks like it was an awesome trip for you
