I think one of my buddies was sick recently and I may have caught his sickness. It's an epidemic on here....Mod-bug...Ever hear of it? lol

To the point. I'd like to build a small form factor PC and wire it into my G35 head unit.

I can handle the PC side of things. They're like legos lol. Car audio is a completely different animal.

Any suggestions on how to make this work? I really don't want to buy another head unit and I'd prefer not to buy some adapter that will convert my signal 4 million times before it hits the speakers.

I'm thinking USB (not likely) or RCA connectivity, I just don't know where to hook it up.

Gracias!

Does your radio have satellite radio or at least the button for it? If so, I sell a AUX input adapter for the G35. It plugs in to the back of your radio and has RCA inputs on it.

I think there is an SSV button which controls some sort of audio gain and one that says "DISP"

The sat function is activated by the AM/FM button. If you have it keep pressing the button and it is activated. Does the adapter work for the ones without the button.

The radio has to have at least the option for satellite radio..... as the adapter uses that input for audio into the radio.

Hmmm. In that case, I'm not sure. I'll have to do some research.

Nate, all 03+ Infiniti models have availability to add satellite service. They are already prewired with a bus connector in the trunk.

I've doen the same thing. The computer install is awesome. Right now, my sounds comes thru a cassette adapter. One day I would like to us an AUX adapter.

I do have a SAT button my head unit, but it doesn't do anything. So to use the aux adapter do I need to install a satellite radio tuner to get the button to become active and then install an auxiliary adapter?

Nope, you only need to buy the adapter. It will plug into where the satellite tuner goes.

After installation, i'm still getting nothing. I push the SAT button and it doesn't do anything. The screen still doesn't say anything.

Note, that all the other functions work as they normally would.

What do you think could be the problem?

I don't usually use PAC, so is there any dip switch settings you may have set incorrect? If not, call PAC tech support.

Do you follow these instructions?

Operation: G35 with SAT button.1. Turn the factory radio on. Press and release the SAT button until SR2 is selected (in some cases, SR1 may have to beselected). Press Preset 1 to enter [Aux 1] or Preset 2 to select [Aux 2]. Preset 3 to 6 will select normal satellite presets.2. Pressing the Mode button on the steering wheel will scroll through CD, Tape AM, FM1, FM2, SR1 and SR2.3. Pressing CD, Tape, FM/AM will exit out of Aux mode, turning off the remote wire.

There are no DIP switches or jumpers or anything of that sort. On the actual unit there is only one switch: SAT or NO SAT. This switch is used if you have OEM sat tuner installed.

I've contacted PAC and they said the problem probably has to do with your HU if I was sure I installed it correctly. I've been to the dealership, but they say that they can't do anything unless I allow( and pay for) them to install a sat tuner ( 900 bucks), then if they find a problem with the Headunit they'll go from there.

I've searched alot of forums and most users that talk about satellite radio and g35s say that w/o the tuner they're headunits read " NO SAT" or "SAT NOT INSTALLED" when they try to push the SAT button. When I push it my headunit doesn't say anything.

On the head unit I still can't get to SR-1, because the SAT button doesn't do anything.

Is it possible that the PAC adapter needs to be plugged into the SAT connector in the trunk?

Do you know if the PAC AAI-NIS2 adapter would work for an 05 g35x with bose 6 cd changer. Accoriding to you the 05 should have prewired satellite, but i dont think it switches to sat mode when I hit the "Radio" button on my dash. Does this mean i have to hook this adapter up in the trunk?
