advice on tire size

Im about to get 18' 5Zigen rims from my Coupe but im not sure on the size tire....245/40? any suggestions??

I don’t know the width of the rims you’re looking at but I have 18x7.5 wheels with 245\45 tires that fit nice and are proper to car (speedo) diameter specs.

245/40 should work ok - stock size for the 18's is 235/45/18.

Possibilities of 18in. tires: 225-245/45, 245-255/40

It would be better if you gave us more information about width and offset.

225/45 or 245/45 is best on an 18" rim. 245/40 can work though without throwing the speedometer off much if having that lower profile is really important to you. check the sticky on this, it has a couple of good sites in the comments for calculating the best tire sizes. or, if you just go to discounttiredirect.com it shows you the preferred plus (bigger than stock) tire sizes.

im just looking for increased traction. The higher size tire the more expensive the package.
