I had the KYB AGX / Tein S-techs on my 240 before I sold it. It made a world of difference, but I was pretty unhappy with the spring rates of the Teins. They are definitely more for show than go.

The shocks were great, though.

the s-techs arent really show, theyre like a street setup/daily driver. they are a decent spring, but for any type of motorsports, youll probably want coilovers. the eibachs however pretty much for show. they lower like 2" which is too much for the shocks you listed, and they have really low spring rates. i wouldnt recommend these. out of the ones you listed, id choose stechs, but if youre set on a spring/shock setup look into rsr springs.

gr2's are like oem replacements. tokico are a tad stiffer that gr2s. and agx are good, and adjustable. agx is probably the better...there are koni, but theyre kinda expensive. so id go with agx's and either stechs or rsr. it kinda depends what youre gonna do with the car also though.

Tell us what you want to use the car for, and we can recommend the best bang for the buck, and keep you from wasting money in the long run.

koni yellows or custom valved shock/struts with custom spring rates pwn too if you can't take advantage of the height adjustment on the coilovers. Or simply don't want the car lowered to much if it's a daily driver.

Ground Control has custom springs for about 50-60 dollars but I didn't see a 240 application. You could call them though as it might not be on their website. Point is custom springs aren't to expensive.

Unfortunatly the shocks aren't cheap and you could easily get out of the spring rates a lower end shock could handle. That's were research comes in though.

Yea if u not gonna get coilovers RSR's Race springs and konis or Tokicos. Tiens are cheaper, but RSRs are a bit better.

I have the RSR spring/koni setup and I like it alot, except on real race surfaces.

For daily driver, with the occasional auto-x or drift event, coilovers are over-kill, and actually hurt lap times, unless the parking lots that you auto x in are in great shape with no un-evenness or bumps or cracks.

whats the difference between coilovers and shocks and spring? shocks and spring can have camber plate, and preload adjustment, coilovers with a threaded shock body really only offer the benifit of ride hight adjustment that is independant of travel. But if your really looking for that much ride hight adjustment chances are your going to low for the most benifit anyways.

The only "benifit" most people get from coilovers is rediculous spring rates, some one else choosing the shock to go with the spring, and being able to lower the car way to much.

As long as you can properly select a shock the only difference with a coilover is the higher spring rate, and having KTS on my car I can tell you that even 8/6 is too high for grip on certain road conditions.

Not to say coilovers are a bad idea, but If I were doing it again I would give heavy though to konis and RSR Race, because high spring rates and the ability to go really low isn't everything.

From what I've seen the average coil-over install on these boards doesn't include corner wieghting. They're just bolted on and adjusted until they look good.

hey, i was looking at the RSR springs, and they have the RSR Race, and the RSR Drop springs. is either set clearly better than the other? i'm more interested in performance than looks, but i just wanted to see what you guys thought about the two sets.

Check the suspension faq, at the bottom there is a big list of springs and their spring rates.

yeah, i can see the spring rates, i saw all the specs on their website as well. The problem is that i don't have much (any) experiece driving with different spring rates. I was hoping to get some input from you guys as to which one would be a better choice just from a handling and drivability perspective.

IMO (having only ever had stock, and KTS coils)I would go with the race springs...They will probaly feel pretty stiff, but shouldn't be too bad...

From what I see the down springs are just lowering springs, to give a meaner stance while the racing springs are higher rates for more preformance.
