well i'm planning on ordering a motor/extra stuff for my S14 this week and here's my list so far

-S14 SR20DET-FMIC kit w/ piping (probably greddy)-heavy throttle hotpipe w/ greddy bov -heavy throttle 3" downpipe-K&N popcharger-walbro Hi-Flow fuel pump (255lph)-SVR Slim Battery-Spec Stg. 1 clutch-heavy throttle harness ($300) seems like it's worth it-boost gauge-Apex'i AVC-R ?? not sure if it is what i want-Denso 550 injectors-Greddy Exhaust -J30 VLSD

here are my questions...1. in regards to the AVC-R, i want somethin that can take advantage of the larger injectors, and also up boost to around 12 psi. the AVC-R can do this, right?

2. are the 550 injectors even needed on the stock turbo? i figure the injectors would let me run 12 psi safely...

3. i dont want to bother with a ECU adjustment yet, so i was wondering if the AVC will do, or if i need something else

4. instead of the greddy exhaust, could i just have a custom one welded up using a real Greddy muffler? or would that be not as good?

5. am i missing anything? what do you think of my list? change it if you think it should be...

i'm looking in specific for what the real shop guys have to say about this, as well as anyone else that is educated in this area.

yeah this is copied form 240sx general chat cuz no one responded to it yet

Don't use a bandaid, do it right and get an ECU re-map. That will control everything (injectors, maf, speed limiter, rev limiter, idle control (for open BOV)

Stock injectors are fine

Get an Apexi N-1, that's all you need, the Greddy is a POS IMHO

I would get a ACT clutch over a spec clutch , but thats just based on what i have heard about quality from other people. Last time I talked to jeff at HT he said they werent doing wiring anymore because people always blame the wiring if the motor doesnt work and it is a liability issue. They might be doing them again though, you just have to call and ask. Your also lacking a boost controler in your list i think (unless thats what the apexi thing is :pface )

I have a spec 6 puck clutch, it's great. The 'lower' spec clutches are crappy though (so I've heard) never had a problem with ACT either though (Spec was just cheaper so I tried it)

Unless you have no way of welding or having someone do it for you, save the $ and don't buy the HT hotpipe. Just weld the Greddy BOV onto the stock hotpipe. Unless you are really concerned with cosmetics. I would also recommend a Greddy RSPL or a Blitz LM over a Greddy VSPL FMIC.

I also have an S14 SR and was told by several people (I thought including you) not to push over 10 psi on the t28 with the stock 370cc's. You think I can push 12?

The AVC-R is a boost controller all it will does it control your PSI, it will not control injectors aor timing or anything else.

And yes, this is true as far as I know. You were thinking of a S-AFC, which is just a simple fuel controller.
