My 2010 G37 sedan is my weekend car its a garage queen its almost three months old has 1600 miles on it. I read and was advised to follow the maint. schd. by time or miles what ever comes firts. I was planninign on doing the B service but changing the oil every 3750 miles. I would like advice from the great members of this forum should I go by miles cause the car is driven such few miles or should I just follow the time regaurdless of the miles??? Thanks..

I had a svt cobra that I put even less miles on per month than you. Weekend car
Ran synthetic in it and changed it every 6 months. Don't think I would go much past 6.

I run synthetic in all 4 cars (mine, wife, daughter, son) I have now and change it between 3k and 3.5K miles - basically, when it's convenient after 3K.
I use only OEM filters in the cars that are still under warranty and either OEM/WIX/M1 on the others.

Are you running synthetic?

Welcome to NICO

My advise is if you don't put much mileage on your car change the oil twice a year.
Even though you don't drive it much condensation still occurs from the oil cooling after the car is driven as well as humidity in the air. I change my oil every 3 to 4k miles and just did my 40th oil change

At 24 months or 30 k i will do the service two and add replace the auto trans fluid. Are you suppose to replace engine coolant and diff. oil at 24/30k?
When do you guys do the AC service and four wheel alignment??

The 6 month / 7,500 mile interval is for people who drive mostly on the highway. The 3 month / 3,750 interval is for city drivers. Let me give you a couple of hypothetical examples.

One is an old fart who drives 5 miles to the senior citizens' center every morning and 5 miles back home every evening. This is very hard on the oil since the engine never really warms up. He needs to change his oil every 3 months even though the distance is only 900 miles.

The other one is a college student who lives on campus and only uses the car one weekend a month to drive 150 miles home and 150 miles back again on the interstate. This is very easy on the oil. He could get by with one oil change a year even though his monthly mileage is the same as the old fart's.

You need to decide where you fall between these two extremes. Until the warranty expires, I would not go more than 6 months between oil changes.

I have decided how I will service the G I will go by time/months cause will not have put enough miles on the car to go by mileage.
I will go with service one and two like this..
I will change the oil every three months.
3 mo. service 1 oil change
6 mo. service 2 oil change and tire rotation
9 mo. service 1 oil change
12 mo. service 2 15k service
15 mo. Service one oil change
18 mo. Service two oil change tire rotation
21 mo. Service one oil change
24 mo. Service 2 30k service but add replace auto trans fluid. Replace engine coolant. Replace rear diff. oil.
At 30k I need to replace engine coolant and rear diff. right??
When do you need to service the AC??
