Hi guys, one of the things I want to possibly do is install a cold air system and a pair of headers for my 93 NA.

My biggest question is, does it save a good bit of gas mileage? I know it helps performance, but I've heard it does both.

MPG gains are minimal.. It does introduce a little bit more power for NA Zs though.

cost to performance gains on the headers isnt worth it at least from my experience if I could do it over again.

Based on these replies, it seems like headers are just a waste of time/money. How about the cold air intake?

Intake is fine, again your not going to notice anything in terms of real gain's from it but it does clean up a lot of space under the nose panel and gives a nice little induction sound when you get on the throttle. In terms of N/A enjoyment i would do intake, catback, ecu tune and then spend most the money on good suspension as that's where you will really notice the difference. Anything else isn't really worth doing unless your really wanting to build out the n/a or it can swap over to a tt.

Anyone know what this little turbine thingy is on the back of this cone air filter and if it's actually worth anything?

Stay away from eBay stuff. Grab a pop charger and call it a day.

That wasn't from an Ebay source. The page looks legit, I was just seeing if anyone had any experience with them.

the "Adds up to" is usually accompanied with 'along with certain performance upgrades'. In other words, you won't see the hp gain unless you've already got things like exhaust and fuel upgrades. Honetly, with the NA, spend your time getting he looking cherry rather than milking a few HP out. you might squeeze a few extra out, but you will hit the point where HP gains cost a lot quick. Or just save up for a TT :)

Understood. I wasn't gonna spend a ton of cash, but if something is easy to bolt on and is under $500 I was willing to do a little research on it. The cherry part has been accomplished more or less.

I like Z-Owned's rims better than mine. But I think we have the same 'red-cherry-pearl' factory color.
