So i know there is a thread with general guidelines and i read it, but i wanted to know what you guys thought of one car/problem in specific. Some guy is selling a 91 240 hatch le with following problems:

Some body damage-No biggie just want DD, will fix eventuallyBad tires-Again no biggie, have spare wheels/tiresNeeds some exhaust work-Have spare ka24de exhaustScratches into 1st and 2nd-Have spare Ka24de trans if it comes to itBad fuel pump-This is the problem that concerns me and i have the question about. I know that they are inexpensive, i have a Walbro high pressure pump sitting in my room waiting for sr20 i could use. He said that the fuel pump thats on the car is from a smaller car, and is just on there to show that it runs, because it allegedly 'runs good'. So He said it doesnt have any 'get up'. My question is how will i know if that is why the car is running crappy or if its another problem? Is a fuel pump easy enough for me to install for me to bring mine with me and hook it up in his driveway? (its a high pressure one)Should i just do that and THEN test drive it? This guy lives an hour and ten minutes away so id be driving it home with the wrong fuel pump otherwise...suggestions?

Wants $1100 figured id look and see what it needs talked down to.

if everything loks ok and it will drive safely, then i'd drive it home and then put your fuel pump on.. when i bought mine the fuel pump was shot so i towed it home with an escort hatch i only had to go about ten miles and i lived out in the booneys so it worked lol

If thats the only problem then its not a bad buy. I spent 1200 on mine and it has some rust and the clutch was bad. So it seems like a decent deal IF that is truely all that is wrong with it.

Swapping a fuel pump is best done in your own drive way! It's not that difficult but still.
