Hey new to NICO but have been reading the forums for awhile now. I have a 2003 350z sitting at home while I am sitting here in Iraq missing it:( looking for some ideas on the best engine mods to get around 500 HP. I wanna get the car moving along as soon as i arrive home:yummy Also does anyone know if a wide body Carbon fiber kit is made? I would love to have that but have yet to find one.

yup, turbo for sure, the problem is if you want over 400 whp you'll need to ungrade the rods, and while your at it pistons and the block aren't too much stronger, gets expensive real fast when you excede 400 whp

Yea i was looking into that and I read the forum posteed about the way to build the engine i need to find a spot to store and build soo i can do it right i know it will get expensive but i wanna push down into high tens. I just have always had that dream of a ten second car. So I will be livving off ramen when I return to the states

Any one around the MD area know any good shops to get the work done that I cant do on my own?

Maybe a VH or VK swap... with a little massaging to bring up the power.. and keeping it natural.

Or you can just drop the compression on the VQ, and add some turbos.

But then.

The question. What do you really want with the car?

And put your money there.

Time attack... every thing that can help your corner acceleration is $

Drag... everything that isn't resisting your instantaneous moment of acceleration is $

Cruising around USA... not your 500 hp goal... sorry... waste of money.

HMM I dont know much about motor swaps for my car. All my research has been for upgrades. I know it sounds liek just a big money guzzler but i want this to be a show/street racer. It isnt my daily driver I have a motorcycle and truck for that. And tracking it will really only be to show off numbers. Street scene is huge down here. I live in a pretty cool area where if you stick to the right places cops dont bother.

Any light to shed or where the best place is to find the engines info just google VH?or VK? isnt the VH a 8cyl?

VH and VK are both all aluminum efi nissan v-8, yes sir.

VH and VK

Or you can go crazy and throw in a SR20.

There's many possibilities. But difficulties is always questioned. And who will be doing your work for you. And where the money coming from and limited to.

From your response your quest isn't just power. But acceleration and looks.

Acceleration is power to weight. Think about it.

Looks. Tickle your fancy. Or in other words your on your own.

the problem wiht a swap is to achieveyour power gioal, most of the same mods will still be needed and it'll all have to be custom plus the cost of buying the donor etc so the cost goes up

good note DEF keep that in mnd I think im going to shift to just doing the turbo or supercharger. ANy one have the supercharger? I have been researchng it and looking on here and I cant find anyone who has it. I have heard its more reliable and close to the same horsepower if that is the case wouldnt that be the better way to go?

the SC is easier to installand runs cooler intake temps, unfortunatley there are fewer options and they tend to be less powerful, I've nto seen any SC's excede 400 whp so it won't reach your goals

Now reality kicks in, glad to have you with us finally.

You can stick to basic engine mods, which includes the intake, exhaust and the ecu.

The rest is yours to show off.

I would recommend SC if you are looking for reliable power. Yes SC's lack the torque, and also are not as efficient, but it is reliable and will add a lot of HP's. With that being said i would also recommend the ATI Procharger SC. The main reasons i recommend this one, is because i did my research. The Procharger comes with a nice front mount (its not an upgrade like with other kits), and it doesn't require tapping into the motor for oil - has a built-to-charger oil reservoir(makes the install more easily reversible). The kit comes ready to install (DIY) which usually yields 340 whp, but if you have a reputable shop do it and dyno tune it you could see 380+ whp. I personally would have a shop tune it but i think i would stay conservative and stay around the 260-265 mark, for more reliability. Now there are also a couple things you could add to the set-up, like bigger injectors, and an in-tank fuel pump instead of in-line, and a higher boost pulley (8-9 lbs over the stock 7 it comes with) for more power, or easier power achieved, and you could still stay conservative. This is what i would like to do to the car, to keep its daily drive-ability, but have a heck of a lot more power.

Or spend $650-$700 on a wet nitrous kit for 50+ hp.

Thats crank horse power. the car is only good for about 400 whp on stock internals.

Almost...you have clutter around your images...

try this:

In your photobucket, the image you want to post, below are 4 links to copy.

Click on the fourth one. It could say "copied". Then just paste it here.

That should solve your clutter.

We just register for an absentee ballot they email us one that has a number on it soo we cant vote more then once we fill it out then mail it in I voted 3 weeks ago. its easier then the real thing

Any one ever used a carbon fiber body kit? I only have buddies with the hoods. I wanna know if they are worth it. or should I say better since they are cheaper if you dont paint them.

CF hood would be purely cosmetic. The weight savings would me almost none due to z33 having factory aluminum hoods.
