My budget is around 1 grand.I'm leaning toward a Toshiba..with like 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, a laptop that i can store like 500-700 songs, and be able to play some pc games with no lag + can do the basic homeworks.I haven't found much... only seen like 1 from bestbuy, post links. Thanx

Look for IBM/Lenovo Thinkpads - they're awesome.

I recommend staying away from Toshiba. You might want to look into refurbished, you will more than likely get more for your money. Not to mention getting a 1-3 yr warranty for cheaper then the new one.

Look into HP, ACER, IBM. All good brands, all brands that I have sold that seem to perform the best.

I got a Dell D620 w/2 gb of ram, 60GB hard drive, 1.8 GHZ intel core 2 duo processor, a 9 cell extended battery, a 6 cell bay battery, a dvd combo drive and a case for $900 w/ a 3 year warranty.

I would recommend something like that

I'd stay away from Toshiba also - they have had some serious flaws and no help from them. Dell makes a good laptop but they are expensive. I purchased two HPs for a friend and they were very impressive.

I know this might sound weird but Office Depot has had some great deals on laptops and desktops lately but you have to actually go into their store to get them.

this is an easy call.

HP Pavillion DV9548us "dv9000 series" its the best laptop for the money I have ever owned. I buy and build half a dozen a month for various clients of mine. The DV9000 is hard to beat.
