you could take them to a paint shop, have them strip the clear coat and have them put a new layer on.. probably wouldnt cost more than about $50/wheel

Hunt around for some non-chain body/paint shops and see what kind of deal someone will cut you to strip/recoat. May be pricey if they don't have the ability to remove the tires, thus more prep.

The chrome ones were a factory option. You may could even pick up a set of chrome ones for only ~$100 more than recoating these cost?? Hawk the ebay.

Don't believe so. Only ones I have seen are AZHitman's, and they were aftermarket.

Given the level of competence, I would be very wary of buying chromed wheels I couldn't inspect personally.

I've seen several pair, and was actually basing my statement off a pic I recall seeing on the Nissanglobal web site. but alas I can't find, so I'll concede my statement as inaccurate.

BTW you should be able to find Q45 OEM 17's for not much more than what repairing those might cost.

A fine polishing is good, but I think it will require a clear seal.

OOOOHHHH! Definitely get them polished. That is way better than chrome, and you don't have the extra weight and no risk of peeling. Just keep those babys coated in wax! Is that $200 for the set?

Then again, I may have a pristine set posted in the classifieds in a month or so.

Polish them! Or how about some later generation Q wheels?!....

Eieher way, id suggest doing the polishing/painting at time of tire change, that way you dont risk damadge to the new finish.

I know if I just get them clear coated again it will take the same ammount of time.I'm still gonna check out some paint shops to see the price diff but i'll prolly go with the polishbtw thx for the input guysOh Chinaonnitrous thx for the reccomendation but I just got brand new yokohama tires so I should be ok

Which Q are you thinking of upgrading the wheels on Brian?

This is somewhat shocking, I must say .

You can drive around with the spare on, and have him do them one at a time.

Just plan a nice weekend away with the wife, and rent a cheap car. Leave the Q with the paint guy.

Or, find some wheels/tires off of a Maxima/I30/G35/300ZX that you can use for a few days.
