I am going to buy my friends old Rb25 setup,

It is a garrett GT3076R Turbo with around 2 or 3 thousand miles on it, polished housing, ball bearing. the exhaust is .82 and I think it has the T4 housing. Costs around 1700$-2000$ new

And an ebay top mount manifold. I think 350$ new

And a Tial 42MM wastegate. 250$ new

So I am going to buy the setup, what do you think a reasonable price is for these items.

And also I am buying a JUN style intake manifold without the fuel rail. So it is just the polished style manifold with the 80MM Blue Throttle body. Its the Ebay style, not sure what he paid.

What price do you guys deem reasonable?

Knowing the fact that it's an ebay mani, I wouldn't pay more than a grand for the kit. It's a friend though, so I don't know how much that affects your thinking.

sounds like he's trying to get rid of those low quality parts on you... but you know him better then we do...

and as far as I know, Tial doesn't make a 42mm wastegate, perhaps a ebay part as well?

I'll be first to welcome you to the NRRBA ! 42mm wastegate? Ebay parts are no good! build your own.

I actually Think it is a 34MM wastegate, Sorry about that.

Heres a picture of the manifold and wastegate.

The manifold is more of an "ebay style" top mount, i know the guy who it comes from in Australia is used alot on other forums.

Intake manifold

Turbo

So reguardless of the Ebay intake manifold, I am not worried that its low quality, the builder that my friend uses has refabbed it and redone any welds that were questionable, he wouldn't let it out of his shop unless he knew it was reliable.

If you don't I would..

I would ask for a few more pics of the manifold. Setup looks like it could be a decent buy.

Those are my personal pictures, I already have the whole setup.

What price would you guys deem reasonable?

No boost spiking issues, it was tuned with an AVCR and Power FC by a very reputable tuner.

For an intake manifold, exhaust manifold, waste gate, and turbo $1000 is a steal assuming everything is in working condition (even if they are ebay parts). Plus if it was already installed in an S-chassis, it is less fab work that you need to do yourself.

I think he said he was going to buy the intake in addition to what he's getting from his friend, so my estimate didn't include that.

WOW I am not sure where you guys are getting the 800 dollar price quote from. If i told my friend that he would laugh in my face and sell this stuff on the forums. I mean hes my friend and all but he has to build his new setup.

Does the price of a turbo really cut more than in half after it has been used?

The only custom work on the setup was drilling and refabbing of some bolts holes on the exhaust manifold. The elbows welded onto the turbo. And the intake is going to come with the idle control valve setup.

I was thinking like 1800-2000 for the whole setup, it literally has less than 2k miles on it.

Where have you found the turbo for 1100 new?

I have been searching and this exact turbo with the .82A/R and the polished housing is aorund 1400

The intake manifold is around 500ish off ebay + shipping

The exhaust manifold is no more than 400$ shipped

the wastegate is around 350$

Can anyone prove me wrong with these prices with real links?

I bought a brand new never installed garret gt3076r for 700.00. So i would imagine you could find them online for under 1100.00. Mine doesnt have the polished housing tho.
