Hey Everyone,

I just bought a 1990 300zx a few days ago and I cannot seem to figure out why it won't run. When I bought it, it would start fine but it would die if it dropped below 1,200 rpm or went above 3,000 rpm. The next morning, it died completely and I haven't been able to get it to start for several days now. The engine will turn over, but won't actually start.

I pulled off the Cam angle sensor and everything if firing correctly, but the shaft connecting to the cam angle sensor does not rotate when the engine is turning over. Does anyone have any idea what I should try next?

When you say shaft connecting to Cam angle sensor, do you mean the cam itself? If so, then the timing belt is most likely broken. You may also have some valve damage due to a piston striking a valve.

If you're talking about the shaft of the CAS, then I'd suggest a new CAS.

The CAS and timing belt are both fine. It seems like the camshaft is broken, but it's hard to tell.
