The 10A fuse to my fuel pump blew so i replaced it but everytime i hit the throttle it blows again it was suggested to me that i have a short somewhere between the pump and the fuse. I would really like to fix this myself rather than pay to get my car towed to the nearest mechanic.

My question is how would i go about solving this problem?

seems odd that it only blows when you step on the gas. that type of short can be a real pain in the rear to find. Especially since that cicuit needs to be in operation to blow the fuse. I would suggest by starting with the fuel pump connector at the tank disconnect it and see if it blows a fuse again. but since your fuse only blows when you step on the gas it would be kinda difficult to make it blow. if you have an ohm meter you could pull the fuse and unplug the pump, hook your meter to the circuit side of the fuse and the other to body ground. and start wiggling the harness till you see the ohm meter register the short. make sure you determine which side of the fuse is power before you plug your ohm meter into it or you could damage the meter.
