I've been told on another forum, from a long term member to

"Try advancing the cam timing on the VH45 on both cams by one tooth...yay 80hp for free!"

When I asked how he knew this

"I saw it when Simon at Nizpro did it on the dyno about 8 years ago...he bought 8 Vh45s for about $300 each...so he ran a few up to see what would happen when you did really simple things...

All of which sort of ended up with them doing the ski race boat engines."

Has anyone tried doing this? does anyone know that they would hit the pistons if this were to happen? 80HP seems WAY too good to be true. He didn't mention if the VCT was played with after the tooth advance

Thoughts? lets not shoot it down on principle

Easy to model engine with Dynomation 5 software which is +-3% in accuracy.http://www.proracingsim.com/dynomationmainpage.htm

The main problem in moving cam derived engine peak rpm is the oem runners/plenum designed to boost peak torque in the 1500-4400 rpm range. These same dimensions set peak HP at 5500-6,000 rpm.
