Hi all,

Our 01 QX4 came with two keys, but no remotes.

Advance Auto parts sells a replacement Nissan key fob that fits many years, most specifically to this case, an 01-04 Pathfinder, and a 2002-04 QX4. I'm not sure why the Q has a later year.

The FCC ID's I got off the box and fob were: CWTWB1U415 CWTWB1UT23 and KBRASTU15

Since we have no remotes, will this remote work? A used fob on eBay is about $40, and this one is new and only $20 more.

Will AAP let you return it if it doesn't work? If so I don't see a down-side to just trying one.

The best thing about AAP is the discount codes. Here's one list, but there may be others, so I'd google for them.

You can get a brand new one on eBay cheaper than that: http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-01-INFINITI- ... 02&vxp=mtr

Usually the eBay ones come with programming instructions too, so I would be more inclined to buy one of those rather than the one from AAP. I've had pretty good luck with the keyfobs i've purchased from eBay.

I haven't purchased a remote yet. I was just trying to see if anyone had any experience with them.

Thanks for the link! I'll check that out

I'm pretty sure you should be able to program the remote with no issues. Usually it's just a sequence that should be included with that remote. Usually it's something along the lines of getting in the car, locking the doors, then cycling the key from the on position to off multiple times. Then either the flashers will blink or the horn will blink, then you hit a button on the remote and it activates everything.

Don't quote me on the process, but it's fairly easy.

There are two different remotes for a 2001 QX4 and they are not interchangeable; you will need either a Model /A or Model /01A. The specific one you need is based on your build date.

I had to get the KBRASTU10 Model /A for my 2001 build date 7/00.

So just for grins we called a the closest Infiniti dealer to us (Still an hour and a half away).

The new, correct, key fob was $49 shipped to our door with programming instructions. I'll be doing this tonight.

All the ones on Ebay were used, the Advance one was $60, so we split the difference and got the correct one!
