I have the computer screen read out on mine, but I think it's pretty much the same way to take it apart if you don't have it.
1. remove the shift knob by putting it into neutral and sliding the chrome cover down. once that is down, remove a metal clip that is right under the shift knob...now the whle thing should slide right off.
2. remove big grey plastic surrounding the shift knob and dash area; not the piece that has "P R N D L", but the whole piece. It is just held on by clips so get a flat head screw driver and it will pop off...(note, you will have to disconnect wiring so do NOT yank it off.
3. now remove the climate controls, this piece just pops right off too. You wil have to unplug things here too so do not yank too hard
***step 4 might be different. The units with the computer are one whole piece...radio and computer screen come out together. It looks like the cubby hold thing could be seperate and might have screws inside?..just a heads up
4. now go to the top of your dash and there is a plastic piece right above the computer display read out thing(or the cubby hold)...take a couple flat heads and that piece will pop right off. You might want to lay a thin towel or something on the plastic to cushion it; the plastic can dent pretty easily.
5. once that piece is off, you shuold see 4 screws - 2 on top and 2 on bottom of the head unit/screen...unscrew those and you're set!
6. to install, just do reverse order...when you are putting the shift knob back in BE GENTLE. I found that out the bad way....first put the metal clip back in the shift knob, then push the chrome piece back up and then gently slide the shift knob back on...DO NOT press the shift knob buttom while doing this or force it in, it WILL break. Just slide straight down nice and easy and it shuold lightly click in...then you're all set.
hope this helps!
