anybody know where to find .adr address files for R33 GTR rom images for use in ROMEDITOR?

the boostedcruising.com site links to what they called the address files, but turned out to just be copies of the rom images.

any help is apprieciated.

Scroll down a bit and you'll see the link to download the .adr files. You need to get a user name/pass to download them though, which you can do for free by clicking on the link 'ROM EDITOR DOWNLOAD Authorization ID/PaSS'

awesome, thank you so much.

ive been searching for them because all i want to do is be able to remove the speed limiter, and bump the rev limiter when i get the clip. im not even gonna mess with the maps, im just gonna use an emanage/E-01.

So this allows you to rewrite the ECU rom? How much is the hardware to pug the ROM into your computer? Do you just change data values in the .adr file or it like assembly language?

address files that contain the map for the raw binary info contained in the .bin files.

the .bin files are the binary data contained in the ECU's eprom chip. without the address files, the .bin data is junk. the address files tell romedit what parameters are where in the matrix.

with a eprom programmer and the romedit software, you can read and modify the ecu.

im building my own. parts cost like $20-30. you need electronic experience because you need to desolder the original rom chip from the motherboard, and solder in a dip socket or a zif socket.

Let us know how it goes...I've got a spare RB20 ECU and several spare SR20 ECUs sitting around that I want to try and reprogram sometime in the future.

it gonna be a while. im gonna build the programmer soon, so thats not a problem, but my motorset/clip wont be in the works for months.

also, im not going to mess with the fuel/ignition maps directly. im using the emanage/E-01 for tuning. i only want to remove the speed limiter/raise rev limit.

ill let you know when i make the programmer, so ill bump the rev/remove speed limiter for you, and socket the ecu, but i wouldnt be comfortable modifying the maps. i wouldnt risk blowing up your motor.

Don't worry, I'm not asking you to reprogram my ECU for me or anything :) I was mainly interested in hearing how difficult/easy the programmer is to make

oh, ok. the schematic of the programmer on boostedcruising.com is not really straightforward. [non standard] there using a wierd schemat style for ground busses. its kinda confusing as to exactly what they mean. is it so hard to put dots in to clearify the situation?

i mean, after looking at it for two minutes, i understand it, but is it so hard to just put dots on the shcematic instead of heavy lines?

theres a seperate power supply schematic for the three voltage regulators because someone brilliant decided it was necissary to use four different voltages.

id have to tally up the cost, but my guess is $30.

personally, i would have done it in CMOS rather than TTL-HS chips.

Cool, thanks for posting the schematic. Right now I'm in a Basic Electronics class at my college and I can get the professor to buy all the components needed to make this, if I do it as a project in that class :D

no problem. if your gonna build it, let me post the schematic for the power supply also.

see, its not complicated, but its a non-standard schematic, which is annoying.

4K7 = 4.7K [stupid] and its missing the value of one resistor in the main circuit. [the collector of transistor 7]

also, by Q7, there is a non marked component. im still trying to figure out what it is. it might be a SCR or something.

its just an outline to try. im gonna try to find a better schematic if i can. i just dont like the looks of this one.

Here's a programmer schematic that might work.
