Why do you want to adjust the TPS. I dont recommend fiddling unless necessary.

the tps and secondary tps are from my old motor, I have a couple of small symptoms that the Transmission Builder thinks is from My TPS ( i am sure that when the swap was done there was no fine tuning just put as close to the position it was on my origional motor)

James, you want to set it by voltage, not ohms.easiest way i found was to measure at the TCU. Set it for 0.44V at HOT closed throttle with ignition ON, but engine off. it's a bugger to get just right, small movements go a long way.

I'm sure I'm a little confused here, but knowing the TPS has a dual function...1-"On/Off switch" with pedal released (warmed up at idle)...and 2-pedal "Position".

When I set mine w/ the voltage method, I don't get the "On/Off" function...and I can't get to the .44v either...so, I set it as close as I can get it...

What's more important, Volts, or the On/Off section of the TPS?...Seems impossible to get both parameters set w/ only one adjustment.......I'm I missing something here, besides a Consult...?

I still think I have a bad TPS because of the erratic reading I get when Ohming the rotation of the switch...

I'll be changing the plugs and fuel filter soon, so I'll check it again...

What bugs me is the car seems to change a little (driveability) day by day...1 day it will be near perfect, next day seems sluggish, but not much...Next day perfect...and on and on..

You shoudl be able to get the .44 volts as read on the 2 pins on the TCU ...i think thats how you did it, pin 34 and 35... if memory serves we did it the same way.

AT any rate, it almost does sound if TPS is bad... You dont get the on/off thing from the TPS harness connector you get it from the TP SWITCH connector (the one on the TPS body, not the connector on the cord).

Wes says, "You dont get the on/off thing from the TPS harness connector you get it from the TP SWITCH connector (the one on the TPS body, not the connector on the cord)."

Correct...I'll check it again in a few days...
