So I have my IACV screw all the way in, with the tps unplugged and still can't get this SR to drop below 900 to 750 so I can set the timing. Any thoughts or ideas, am I missing something? I already set it by pulling it out, removing the valve cover, and reinstalling it lined up. I just want to make sure its set properly. Throttle isn't holding the rpm back either I adjusted it all the way out, just won't drop below 900.

there is a reset procedure which involves a bunch of plugging and unplugging of the tps I believe it is in the FSM. Find the FSM and you should be good. Or you can unplug your battery cable overnight and then reset it yourself and see if this fixes it.

Pinch off the iacv and see where it idles. If it won't get down, you'll have to adjust the throttle stop.

I loosed the throttle cable all the way and even backed up the throttle stop, still 900, is this too high to set the timing with?

My sr20det would idle at around 800 rpm with the stock cams -- with the greddy easycams I run it now idles around 1000 rpm. It idles lumpy and fast --- others might chime in but this just the way it goes with aftermarket cams.

How bad is it to set timing at 15btc idling at 900rpm?
