Hi,

2002 Pathfinder LE 3.5L

I'm sorry if this is ridiculously simple and I'm just not getting it . . . I need to replace my throttle position sensor and understand that it needs to be calibrated properly once it arrives. I have found numerous sites detailing how to do this for various other types of Nissans -- including the 3.3L Pathfinder, and they all mention something along the lines of putting my red lead to pin #2 (middle) and rotating the sensor until the voltage is somewhere around 0.5 V DC. I can't seem to find this reference in the FSM for this car.

What I DO see in that section (EC 122-124) are instructions for adjusting the throttle body SWITCH by using feeler gauges, rotating the sensor, and checking for continuity between terminals 5 & 6 of the switch's connector.

I understand that the TP sensor has 2 connectors (throttle position and idle switch). So the switch instructions are there and clear, can anyone help me understand how to adjust the sensor portion?

Thanks In advance.

You shouldn't need to do anything with the sensor portion, per se. Once you get it properly lined up and the switch portion is properly communicating when it's closed vs. open, you're done.
