Do you guys prefer to count the coils, or do you measure ride height from the ground?

I do both. When the wheels are off and Im adjusting, I count the coils. Then I drive it around for about an hour, bring it in to my level garage, and then measure ride height to make sure nothing settled funny.

I do the measurements on a self-leveling alignment rack, and take 3:

Floor to fenderTop lip of wheel to fenderTop of tire to fender

why? Each of these can be affected by various factors such as tire inflation pressure, dmaged suspension components or other issues...

this way I am positive that it's set correctly...

My Tanabe coilovers came with a Japanese instruction sheet. Luckily, the chart for adjusting the height of the car was in plain numbers so I could understand. It basically says if the adjusting rings are Xmm away from pointY, then the car will be Zcm high from the ground.

Hope I described it clearly....

Well, I agree..but most of the regular people don't have corner scales, or any REAL reason to use them (if you set the height correclty, weight distribution will be the ame asf atory) since they aren't trakcing the car competitively anyways. Also, how many people who corner weigh forget to unload the sway bars and readjust them after???
