So I came across this post on another forum. Credit goes to "Jixxer Josh".

I just did this in about 15 minutes, as I was very delicate about removing the gears. After removing the first one I felt confident removing the second one. Don't be a wuss about it like I did... Give it a good push with a screw driver or pry bar. I just moved the blue piece slightly to the side of where it was originally. It's easy enough for me to adjust with just my fingers. I placed a 12mm socket on top of it and used my fingers to make it easier.

Enjoy!

That's a great question. Far as I know, hey really should never need adjustment for height. However, some people have modified their suspension which lowered their car, or they have switched to larger wheels which raises the car. In those cases, maybe the height of the headlamp beam has also been changed, but I don't imagine it changes all that much (maybe 1-2 inches). I really see no reason to mess with the headlamps. Also, if you adjust them yourself without the proper guides to assure you're aiming them correctly, you run the risk of blinding oncoming traffic or losing the optimal distance they illuminate. Perhaps someone who has actually done this can explain why it was necessary.

That makes sense if the car is lower or higher. Either way, doesn't seem too important, especially if you have HID's. I had a Maxima lowered with nice bright lights. I never had a problem.

My stock lights seemed to be pointed far too low and had very little visibility, I turned them up higher so that the beam cutoff was just below average car's side mirrors at 75ft away and could see much better at night. When I got my new custom lights I used the adjustments to set them up about the same, but for a distance of 250ft since the lights are so much brighter and the cutoff is much better.

You cannot really adjust them against a garage wall, it is too close and the adjustment you do by just an inch that you see can be 6-12" of height adjustment at normal driving distance. You need to have a fairly large space like an empty parking lot at night and a 2nd car to help with the adjustment.

Now that is something I never thought about - what if your OEM bulbs are not aimed properly from the get?
If you Since you have experience with this sort of thing, would be so kind as to view the vid of my new bulbs and see if they 'seem' to need adjustment for height? Much appreciated.

Don't forget it's YouTube so you have the use the gear gizmo in the bottom bar to set it for 1080p

The lights look like they are the right height to me. When you are coming up on some cars it looks like they are just a tad below most people's side mirrors.

I'll be honest. I didn't look at your lights once. You made me miss Ft. Lauderdale though. I've taken those cruises up and down A1A many times.

Thank you Enigma! I feel like they are fine too, just wanted a confirmation from someone who has the experience.

Yes, I am truly lucky to live just a field goal's kick from the ocean. It does have it's not-so-greats though. And ... Easter, Thanksgiving, and Chrimbo time it takes forever to get anywhere coz of the influx of tourists that make my 15min trek to the shops more like 40min with an MPG of about 12 until i get across the causeway. Then there are the magical beach breezes ... that drop a thin layer of sand every day on anything not covered. On the plus side, when we get the really great storms I can walk to the top of my street in my foul weather kit and enjoy the wrath of mother nature at it's meanest, LOL

Oh man. I was there as a kid during Hurricane Andrew. I miss the old Ft. Lauderdale. The little motels especially. It's a blown up city now, it's crazy to me. I use to go to that Gold Coast motel (where Trump is now) Memories, memories. Beautiful women there always though. They got some headlights that don't need adjusting. :chuckle:
