I just bought some Sylvania Silverstar headlamps for my car, and i'm gonna put them in but i need my headlights adjusted, they aim too low. I went to the dealer and he said it would be over $180 because they would need to do all this stuff, i was jut like whatever. so does anyone know where i can get this done proffesionaly.

if there the same as my 89 240, then its easy. i put the same headlights on, and put my old ones back in the box and took them back and got money back! Flip your headlights up, now on the side there is a metal pole that u can adjust to make it higher/lower, and just turn that, then on the headlight itself, there should be a screw on the bottom and if u turn it, it should adjust the tilt on it.

There are two screws on the flip ups. The one closer to the outer part of the car adjusts left to right and the one screw at the bottom of the headlight adjusts up to down motion of the headlights. Those are your adjuster screws. Mine were rusted to hell so might want to be a bit careful as the lower one is listed at 8 bucks a pop.

Dude, there's not really anything to mess up. Just park your car on level ground in front of a wall. Adjust the lights until they look like they are aimed properly. Take it for a test drive. If it's not to your liking, readjust them. Please don't pay a dealership $180 to aim your headlights. It is a 5 minute job.

$180? :rotflmao

that's a good one. there's simply screws and a bracket that surrounds the headlamp itself that is used to aim it. The owner's manual would have you believe it's much more complicated than that. The only setback of having retractable lights is that they're a ***** to replace/ and aim. Hohum.

There is a little spring that keeps the whole assembly tight. Yours is probably just missing, that's why it bounces when you hit a bump. Just pull the plastic shield from around the headlight, and you'll see how they work. Two screws and a spring. It couldn't be much simpler.

dont tighten the screws too much though you arent aiming it down. I know I totally messed up one of my adjusting screws by screwing it too tightly. Had to bend the headlight bucket back right. :D

yea the dealer said it would be 80 bux just to check it out, then depending what they needed to do they might need to take the whole thing off since they're pop up and blah blah blah, so you'd be looking around $180, i'm like whatever

I did take of that plastic cover, but i dont' remember any spring, where is this spring located?

Here's the spring. You'll have to copy and paste the link for it to work. Look at the headlamp diagram, and the spring is number 10. Nissan part number 26074-01F01.

well i put the headlights in yesterday, at 11 30 pm on new years eve, and the drivers side has the spring missing so i gotta go to the junkyard and get one, and i have to try and aim them pretty straight
