adjusting coilovers.......no experience

I justed ordered some spl kts coilovers for my Zi've never worked with coilovers before. so setting the proper shock travel and spring preload is greek to me...can someone walk me through it. if i can get them to stock settings. i could use it as a baseline. i'll find out tomorrow if they come preset or not. yes the web site has a good gouge on how to set it. but where to start?

what will the car be used for? what are the spring rates?the basic set up is to load the spring enough that you don't get any spring hop at full extension, then the car needs to be put on conner scales with the driver in the seat and adjusted for drossweights, spring rates can be changed to ashieve the desired handling characteristcs, the pearch is to adjust the preload and fine tune the crossweights

Honestly there is no "best setting" for everyone. In fact, I encourage you to test settings out and see what works/feels best to you. I personally run 13/11 spring rates and lay my car on the ground and yes, daily'd that way. Clears the tallest speedbump where I live..well, scrapes over it is more like it, but still.
