Does anybody know how to adjust the air to fuel mixture on a 91zxtt??? I'm beginning to think that this car is more trouble than it's worth, when it was running right, it was wonderful to drive it, making a fool out of the golfs and bmw 3 series over here in england but now this car it's just bogged. Please help finally got the clutch working and now this.

are you by chance driving a fairlady??? no mixture is not adjustable with out a chip. you say its bogging do you mean lacking power or loading up on fuel. if its the later check your coolant temp sensor (yellow connector dead center in the front of the timing cover) for green corrsion in the terminals of the connector. This will make it run super rich and belch black smoke.

yes, it's a z32. it's belching out a lot of black smoke at the back when I step on it, and it sounds like it's gonna die with my foot off the gas pedal. When I step on the pedal, it hesitates(about to die) then kicks in. It doesn't sound right too, seems like the engine only running on a couple of cylinders instead of all. From what I've read, there's was a PTS ignition amplifier recall on the model(91), does installing a new ignition module remedy the problem and what should I do if the connector at the coolant temp sensor is bad, replace the connector or the sensor.

if you can clean it both the terminals on the connector and the terminals in the connection in the sensor. then very slightly bend the metal female terminals in the connector a little so they fit tighter on the sensor terminals.

The reason I asked if you were driving a fairlady is here in the us we dont get fairlady's. only the right hand drive z32's are called fairlady. And they are desiered by most Z car enthusiast here. I wouldnt mind havin one my self.
