Is it necessary to get adjustable upper control arms if I switch to, say, the Tein Flex Z Coilovers? I just replaced my upper control arms with OEM replacements.

Depends on how low you plan to go and if you really care about proper camber.

ONly looking to lower about an inch. Looking more for ride comfort.

Unless you'll be adjusting your ride height you're likely better off with some good quality progressive rate springs and struts designed for whatever drop the springs provide.

For a 1" drop, 300 degree camber plates will bring your camber back to OE specs. Low cost and effective.
PM sent.
