I've decided to go ahead and get adjustable tension rods and want to know the best brand to get. Who's happy with what they have and what would you suggest? I drive hard with the Q, so keep that in mind.

What about the ones always on E-bay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

I'll change your title to indicate TENSION RODS and not TIE RODS.

Anyway, those ebay ones look really cheap.. Remember that the tension rod takes pretty much all the force under braking, so you dont want anything cheap...

Compare those to the SPL ones in terms of quality and youll chose SPL.. A used SPL tension rod is BY FAR BY FAR better than a brand new Ebay brand.

I thought the ones on E-bay looked awful "basic". SPL is one I was thinking about, but I don't know what a good price is.

If you goto the classifieds and other Z boards (dedicated Z32 boards are only good for their classifieds, all of the Z guys are snobby asswipes)..

The new tension rods from SPL include the mounts for the brake deflectors which according to Z32 guys really help brake fade!!

Id get the SPL tension rods version 2.0

These are $189 and look nice. The brake deflectors are $30 more according to SPL's website.

I just bought a pair of the black ones for my '92 from SPL.

Should I also replace the upper link?

I would only replace upper links if need! A lot of these aftermarket parts make you ride a lot stiffer on the rest of your suspension! If you have a Q and want to keep a nice luxury ride then you should keep your parts OEM! If you have performance mod's and race or drive your car hard from time to time then you can go with aftermarket parts! The SPL are a nice up grade like Wes said because they help with front end Roll and the main thing I noticed was when in high cross wind situations you don't get the side to side movement when car is hit by high wind gust! You have to keep in mind that the stiffer the suspension the more wear on your tires. I have the Black SPL!

The Blue will match the Tokico Blues I have.

66mgb - I'd replace the upper links if you need them. If you don't then I wouldn't, plus they are expensive. If you have the money however, why not get them.
