I installed a setup of KYB AGX shocks, Tanabe springs (drop 1 inch rear and 1.5 up front)Do I need to have adjustable solid tension rods up front to have the car aligned, I have it installed on the car now but I don't like how you feel everything you run over because it doesn't have a bushing, I was thinking about installing the OEM tension rods with energy suspension bushings or maybe Nismo bushings, any recommendations?

What I want out of the alignment is pretty even tire wear and for the car to track straight.

Do I need to have my new rims and tires installed on the car when I get my alignment or can I get by with the stock rims?

I really appreciate ya'lls advice.

thanksSudesh

Well if you want the tire/car to track PERFECTLY STRAIGHT you must be able to adjust the camber and caster and toe PERFECTLY equal side to side.

Perfection requires +- 0.1 degree caster and camber equality on a perfectly flat highway across the lane..........equal to a airport runway

I am not looking for perfection, just for my tires to wear fairly even, can I get by with energy suspension bushings on OEM tension rod and a good alignment, I am in Texas, right now with the solid tension rods I feel every little thing on the road such as the lane reflectors/dividers, when I had the stock tension rods it was much bearable,

thanks

A 1" drop doesn't do anything noticeable, stock alignment pieces will work just dandy.

You can go as low as you want without needing adjustable tension rods.

First link to give you problems will be the rear upper control arms. After lowering like 2.5"+, adjustable ones become helpful.

I really appreciate your advice, I am going to install the OEM tension rods with the nismo bushings, how does this compared to OEM liquid filled and energy suspension poly bushing,

What is all adjustable on a factory s14 suspension, caster, camber, etc.....?

You will just get better steering response.

Front:Toe

Rear:Camber and toe.

Well basically the adjustable front tension rods help adjust Caster, not camber or toe. I use caster to help adjusting for road crown so you'll drive striaght on most city roads. Also they come with pillow ball mounts instead of bushings
