Hey guys. My tension rods are in poor shape. I have my front suspension partial dissassembled and am reassembling. Does anyone have a Company or link to some Adjustable Tension Bars for the Z31, or universals? Something that won't wear easily and will camber in the toe and hold it well, then of course a good four wheel alignment...

Nothing about tension rods on your site AZ? I've read that the tension rods have a bad habit of wearing out, mine need replaced. And my poly kit didn't come with bushings for the tension rods. Does anyone know of a company making adjustable tension-rods for the Z31? With adjustables I could keep up the changing...uhh...camber, right? And a pillow ball bushing would last alot longer, than the silicone ones.

Or I can buy OEM, and change as needed I guess,.. my driving, should be about as frequent as brakes or tires.

aftermakket tc rod bushings are availalbe, , and you might check with ross at modern motorsports or dave at arizona z car, I suspect they are similar to the S130 and one of them might make something, also gabe at techno toys tuning might be able to help

What do you mean the kit didn't come with tension rod bushings? What kit did you get? From where?

No one makes adjustable tension rods for the Z31.

Where did you read that tension rods have a bad habit of wearing out?

Adjustable tension rods allow you to change the caster.

Pillow ball bushings are for race applications only. Using them on the street will cause them to fail a lot more often than any poly/rubber bushings you use.

WOW! Now I know why I think you're stupid. You're that idiot who claims to be a 34 year old mechanic, but acts like a 5 year old kid with his first Hot Wheels. I forgot that you came here and changed your screen name.

Nevermind. Now I know your "driving style". And now I know why you think you need an LSD and all that other stuff. I bet you have no idea what any of it is for and what any of it does.

Note to self... 4AM is BBC from 3ZC.

BTW: Tension rods are big fat pieces of metal. They don't "wear". If they're in poor shape, it's because you hit something (like a curb) "drifting" and bent them.

Prothane... and Import Tuner disagrees with you. Stick to the junkyard you get most your Silvia s*** from.Don't post if your not going to answer or help with the f@#king question.

Import Tuner? You mean the ricer magazine? That's where you're getting all your information? What do they disagree with me about? Oh wait. A magazine that's now defunct disagrees with me. I'm scared.

The Prothane kit comes with tension rod bushings. It comes with two different sets. One for the 84-87. On for the 88-89. You just didn't look at the right parts.

What does a Silvia have to do with this thread or any of the information within? Silvias weren't even sold in the states. Once again, you're proving yourself to be NOT a 34 year old mechanic. Just another little kid with no real experience but what he read in a ricer magazine.
