i was curious as to which one would be a better buy? a non-adjustable racing seat or adjustable? i want it for function but my car is a DD so does the non-adjustable kill your back after driving in it all day? I'm sure there's a lot of people here with both types that i can get an input from.

for daily driving i would prefer a reclining seat. So much easier to get in and out of the car and its a it's a lot more comfortable as well. But if you do a lot of track days maybe you can sacrifice your comfort and go for the fixed back one because it'll hold you a lot better.

well if your buying a quality name brand seat (bride, recaro, sparco) you should be ok with a reclining seat, but if your buying a knock off you will want a non reclinable seat, the cheap reclining seats feel un-sturdy...trust me i have some of my own.... i hate them

For a 240, you might as well get a reclineable seat (cause you guys have backseats and can actually recline your front seats quite a bit). Unless you're a giant and need the additional headroom, you'll be happier with it.

There was a crash test video I've seen before, pretty sure it was with a sparco reclineable, well...it didn't make me want a folding seat lol. I'm going with buckets. If you're not tracking your car a lot and still want to use your back seats then I don't see a problem with them, just go name brand, cheap seats are flimsy

like is said they are knock off and i bought them locally so i cant give u a website to where i got mine... they are decent for the price, and are ALOT better than s13 seats, and s14 seats just arent my taste.. heres a pic.. they work and all but i kinda wish i just forked out the extra $$ for some decent non reclinable name brand seats... but i also mainly track my car

non reclinable ftw. sereiously fixed bucket seats are not that bad. I daily drive mine and Over long trips my back never hurts. plus you look like an idiot with your seat leaned back anyway. I hate sitting in normal seats now. And to get out, just put your left hand on the side skirt and lift your body over the seat side wall. i really don't think you'll regret it
edit: get one though. everyone hates riding in my car now if theyre even if theyre 5 pounds overweight

but i agree with anyone who says to get a fix seat they feel great and for your passengers get them a reclinable bucket seat.

of course i would love to get a name brand seat but i doubt i will. for obvious reasons i want the reclining seat but the bucket seat seems to hold you in more.

i feel your pain, name brand seats come with a heavy price tag, you will be good with a knock off, but when you buy cheap, you get cheap...and really cheap when it comes to reclining...anyway GL and post what you end up with

lol and i would think they'd be more comfortable with their extra padding. really so no issues at all? what seat do you have? i've seen different brands with different padding and/or placement but it's not like i can go "test sit" in one. getting out is not an issue i just care about the comfortability for long periods of time and still be good for track/auto x.

The one thing I know about reclineable buckets is that they are only available tube framed. There are also tube framed bucket seats but you can get fiberglass or carbon fiber ones. The downside to tube framed seats is that they can be harmful during an accident. The fiber glass and carbon fiber ones are more flexible in the event of an accident. :bigthumb:

I would get a fixed seat. I use to daily mine, and it to me its actually more comfortable then a regular seat to me. Feels like I'm more secure and snug once you get in. Only catch is getting in and out of it cuz of the side bolsters, it can be a challenge.

Most important, you can still adjust the tilt angle of the seat if you get side mounted brackets. I have mine on the highest notch in front and lowest in back. This is comfortable for me as i'm not sitting straight up and have room for my helmet also w a sunroof.

strange their only option for seats is reclinable in the interior section. but the reclinable looks pretty and price is attainable..hmm
