My Nissan has speakers in the door that are pretty poor quality. I believe they came with the car. I purchased it from a private owner two years ago. It is a 240SX SE convertible in good condition. However, I was excited when I noticed that there are two small speakers that look to me as if they had been installed as an addition by the last owner. They are mounted to the windshield close to the visers on both the driver and passenger side. I can see the wire that runs down the side of the windshield and into the dash on each side as well, so they are indeed connected. However, they do not seem to work as I can not hear anything coming out of them. I tried out my balance adjustment on the stero to make sure it wasn't just because of that, but nothing changed. It is a shame because it would be so nice to hear them when the top is down on the car since they are right at head level on the windshield. I wonder if it would be costly to have them looked at, or if I can even fix it myself? I am unsure how to go about checking it out myself, I wouldn't know where to start.

Do you have an aftermarket radio? The previous owner may have had that and an amp set up and instead of making 2 holes in the pillar he just left those tweeters there but disconnected them... try to contact them if they directly sold you the car

Yes the previous owner put an aftermarket CD player in the car. He must have installed the speakers as well.

Try tracing the wires back to see if they are actually connected to the stereo. If they are check the conections at the speakers. Maybe even unhook or splice the wire and test it with a speaker you know works.

Ah-ha. Yes, that would be a good idea. Thanks for the tip, I will have to investigate and try that out. I didn't think about testing the wire on another speaker. Thanks!
