Allright,

I just picked up a metal hard cold pipe that fits in the stock location from rookieca18 and it came with a bada$$ twin additional injector set up. Its really clean and it uses 2 stock CA18DET 370cc injectors. I am planning on installing the pipe here soon, but eventually I'd like to get the injectors hooked up too. I've seen an HKS additional injector controller and a Greddy/Trust REBIC controller. Has anyone had experience with either of them? Do they do basically the same thing.

From what I understand they both control the injectors based off a pressure switch to increase fuel flow with boost (therefore allowing me to raise the boost past stock without upgrading my injectors). Am I correct, and if so how hard is it to get this tuned? Can I play with it myself, or is this something I should find someone to tune for me? Anyways, anyone who knows about additional injector control help me out. I'll admit I know very little about anything other than stock CA stuff (which I think I know pretty well;))

Thanks,Sean

Fuel distribution with additional injectors has troubled me.

you can make your own setup for less than $50. get a cold start injector from a SAAB and a HOBBS pressure switch. some fuel line and a T to T-off your stock fuel line. i did this on my last car and it was good for 23 more WHP, tho this was a 12 valve mazda engine. but, as stated above, you can have issues with distribution and one cylinder may go lean.

just a note to anyone considering running an ARC sidemount, do yourself a favor and get some hard piping made to replace that plastic piece of crap cold pipe! holy $hit my car pulls alot harder now with this new pipe

its a stock shaped 2.5 inch cold pipe, and the car actually has some balls below 3k now. I'm gonna investigate the whole additional injector thing more, but I'm not sure if I'm going to try and run them... we'll see:) but I am impressed with the performance gains of replacing the stock plastic pipe with a larger metal one!

pics to come soon...

imo i would rather run larger main injectors than running secondaries, my ca clip came to me with a custom intake with 4 secondary injectors, and a rebic 2 controller, other than the fact that the controller is ancient, i dont like the idea, so i removed the manifold, welded up the holes and im going to run larger main injectors with no secondaries. heres some pictures.

Those extra injectors are known to work wonders on RE ( Rotary Engine) I know i had 1, but again rotary and piston engine are a very differrent animal. so, But unless u are looking into a mad amount of power and big primary injectors, I don't see any reason u should need it, I think it just an OVER KILL!!, and something else that u ahve to worry about that can really hurt ur engine if malfunction and not properly tune. It will look *****in nontheless. Just my .02 C

Good to know! My ARC should be here in the next week. Looks like I need to go to my buddy's and get him to help me weld up a cold pipe...

Rotaries are just fine running slobbery rich, where as "normal" 4 cycle motors are not. Hence why you see 1000cc primaries and 1600cc secondaries on big power 13B-REWs.

I miss my rotary...

and on the CA due to the design of the intake manifold the #4 cylinder will run leaner than the other 3 if you run additional injectors instead of bigger primaries. in knightrider's case though, i think they would have worked fine since they were located on the runners of the manifold.

If you're going to be running big power, you should pull the additional injectors and buy bigger injectors. Too much room for error running an AIC and injectors on this motor or any motor for the most part. But hey, I don't know engines especially the CA, so I'm just barking.
