Hey everyone, I got a 89 s13 BONE stock. I got a guy that knows a guy that has a friend (well you get the idea) that has a 98 S14 ka24de complete motor, harness, and ecu. He says 1200 bucks for the hole shabang. My question to all of you is mods need to be done other than the power steering lines. Is all the info in the tech pages? I hear i will have to mod the bell housing or get a new for the crank sensor. Will my S13 transmission bolt right up? Basically if every thing needed is posted in the tech page for the motor swaps then just reply back with "yes you dumb ***".Its been along time since ive been in the car world so help a guy out. Thanks

You'll need to take both the 98 Service manual and compare it to the 89 service manual for the EFI systems. The S14 EFI harness is done differently from the S13, so you'll have to convert the S14 harness to use the S14 ECU.

Also, if he's only supplying the motor, you'll need to mount the s14 crank angle sensor on top of the bellhousing on your existing trans.

Personally, $1,200 is way too high for a used '98 KA and no transmission to me. You can score s13 DOHCs for a lot less and you'll have less hassle getting that in your car. Heck, you could buy a used S13 DOHC and rebuild it and still have plenty of coin left over.
