Wife wants to add XM to her car='05 G35x, with Bose DVD Nav system.Last year I added a Parrot bluetooth kit to her car using a wiring harness that allowed quick connections.

If I take her car to the dealer to add XM, will they have to remove the radio to add XM?If so I don't trust them to do it right and keep the parrot working the same...is it possible to add XM myself?

Where is the XM hookup in the G35?In my Audi it was pre-wired in the trunk and then the ECU had to be programmed to recognize it was there. Same for Infiniti?

Thanks

Its pre-wired in the trunk of the G as well. Under the mats, under the left plastic piece is where you'll find the harness. You can purchase the box and antenna at everythingg35.com if you'd like--they're a dealership out in Scottsdale, AZ. Lots of people here have ordered from them.

Hmmm, I just found her VIN # and it ends in 315595, so based on everythininfiniti.com it is NOT pre-wired.

Thanks. I'll check her wiring tonight to confirm. If it's the case how much harder is it to wire it? Too much trouble?

I don't have to enter any codes to make the radio realize the unit is there?Or upon first time the radio turns on it will see it?

All 2004+ Gs were pre-wired. From the website:

Before purchasing please check & see if you are pre-wired for this unit, for 2003 the VIN rages...

All 2004 and later cars are pre-wired from the factory.

When you check tonight, you should see a harness most likely taped to another set of wires. It should recognize it without doing anything. You will have to activate the radio through XM (check their website for instructions) and you'll have to leave it on Ch 1 for awhile so that the satellite finds your radio.

So the radio harness for the XM module is pre-wired, but not the antenna?

That's pretty sad.My Audi has both the wiring and Antenna pre-wired.The Sharkfin for the GPS has the XM antenna built-in as well.

Since my wife's G35x has DVD-Nav GPS built-in, is the antenna built in as well?Or no?

I bough the tuner and antenna kit from everythinginfiniti.com, but if I don't need the antenna it would make life a lot easier to install it.

I am thinking of installing the Parrot mki9100 into my 2005 G35x with bose sound. However, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any problems with getting sound through all speakers. My 1st priority is that it would allow me to get aux in for my car to play off of ipod, but then the bluetooth is a nice bonus.

I read here that this guy didn't get sound going to the sub.

Any help/input would be great!

Thanks
