Hey everybody. The Filipino1 here again with another addition to my Nissan collection. In a couple of weeks I will be picking up my 1986 Z31 5spd. I will be picking it up for $1400. I can't wait to pick this Z up. For those who don't know me (probably everyone here) I bought a 1992 240sx SE shell for $175. I will be placing a RB26DETT into it.

Right now I have to pick it up first, but I'd like to get the digital gauges for it when the purchase is completed. Here are a few pictures of my soon to be Devil Z

Does anyone know where I could find the '86 digital gauges?

I'll post more pics when I pick it up.

If you're trying to swap to the digital gauges, you're in for a world of hurt. If you're trying to fix a non functioning cluster, search the web for "wild bill 300zx".

seriously. don't try to swap to a digital cluster. way more problems than it's worth.

Thanks for the info AZ-ZBum, and coming from you I trust your wisdom. I guess the reverse gauges is the only option left.

If you don't like the orange stock gauges, you could swap to the 87+ setup. You'll need the speedo cable setup and dash subharness from a donor car, and obviously the main cluster and center gauges. Looks cleaner than the 84-86 gauges, and makes pulling the dash, more specifically putting the main cluster back in, a lot easier.

Update:
Well the car is just parked right now. I grabbed some plug wires from the junkyard for like 10 bucks with a passenger side mirror i needed too.
I tried to plug them in but nothing is sparking. Im thinking i didnt connect them well enough. So for now the car is parked at my apartments till i can get the cash for the new engine. I dont think its worth put my time and money into restoring the old vg30 if im buying a vg30dett.
For now im just making a list of what i'll need and want for it. im not for sure what i want to do in the end. I have a few friends who are drifters i could do that or just make it street, you never know.
