Can a reverse camera be added to an M35 if it did not come with one. My car has navi system.

You need to look through the settings. I'm not sure if there is a way to disable the camera, but if you have the Navi package you should automatically have the rear view camera. Is there one above your license plate?

There is no camera by the license plate.

I was wondering if I can take one from another M and install on my M. Do they come pre-wired?

So how do you have Navi then? Did someone install it after the fact?

Adding a rear camera would be very easy for our cars. I purchased a video input device called a NAVIKS video input module. Everything is plug and play and prewired. You would have to purchase a backup camera and splice the power wire to the camera to the light blue wire on the NAVIKS module to the power wire on one of the back up lights. Then just ground the ground wire on the NAVIKS module and backup camera and you are set. Wiring is VERY EASY, but the challenging part is removing the entire center console and radio to plug in the prewired harness into your LCD screen in the dash. Below is a video of the NAVIKS module I installed on my 07 M. You can add 2 additional video inputs and I am considering wiring up a forward camera as the second video input device. Below is a video of the NAVIKS module I installed on my M. The only difference would be, the video input device. Mine was my iPhone4, whereas yours would be a backup camera. Hope this helps....

I, too, would like to add a front camera. I would add a prism to it, so I could see left & right oncoming traffic... the Fuga had this option from the factory!

I've been thinking of this for a while too about putting front cameras on, especially since I have the computer. I just can't decide best placement, and the perfect camera with a good resolution and size. Front fender which involves drilling which u don't want, wheel well which will get the lenses dirty real quick, or behind the license plate? Who knows, but NY main issue has been the camera really.

I forgot how the factory Fuga front cameras installed. I think they were on each side of a front license plate holder, because they were the fursthest forward thing on the car - which allowed you to see oncoming traffic both left & right. This way you didn't have to blindly jump into traffic from like an alley where you can't see who will be coming down the street. Like having two periscopes to see around corners! It really was the most amazing invention ever... not sure why it didn't take off!

Maybe you could add a little camera inside each headlight housing? Or just one housing if all you wanted was a straight-ahead view.

Below is the auction/seller I purchased mine from. I will have to look into the fuga's front camera. Never knew that this was an option on them.

Anyone look any further into this front camera thing? Almost time to move onto the next project and trying to figure out which to do first.

I just ordered a backup camera on ebay yesterday. I lowered my car even more this past weekend and feel that it's more of a necessity now. Although, I'm torn and not sure if I should have the video feed from the front camera come through the OEM navi screen or add a monitor somewhere for the video feed. I was thinking possibly the second small visor behind the drivers side sunshade.

where on the front do you plan on placing it? how big is it? does it have good low light visibility? how much? I was looking at one for $40 with nightvision that's about 1".
I was thinking of either splicing mine into the Nav screen with a switch, or just running it directly to the video jacks.
I don't know what your particular purpose is, mine would be for side views when poking my nose into traffic and think it would be more convenient to flip a switch and see it on the screen instead of flipping down and up the visor every minute...also keeps it discrete and unique.

I haven't figured out yet exactly where I will place it, but just ensured I ordered one with a mounting bracket (previous experience installing a backup camera on a friends 06 Civic). My primary purpose is when parking. Since I am so much lower now on my coilovers, I have to be extra careful pulling into a parking spots, my garage, and even my driveway.

Very good point on the visor install! I dont "think" visibility will be an issue with the assistance from the foglights. If it is, I plan on purchasing a small yet powerful led that can be easily concealed to address this issue.
