I would like to know if I am getting the correct parts that I need.
So far I have purchased a "Stellar RS1050" remote start kit.

I think I need a "bypass module".
What is the best way to go that has a "plug and play" harness available?
I have found
1) XpressKit DBALL, DBALL2 or DBALL2PRO and all of these tell me to use a THNISS3 Interface Harness which fits both a Nissan and Infiniti. The problem I have here is, I can't find the harness anywhere.

2) XPRESS KIT REMOTE START BYPASS MODULE XK09 RSR LOCK UNLOCK TRANSPONDER UNIVERSAL - not sure if the same THNISS3 interface would work with this one or not.

3) iDataLink ADS-ALCA Multi Platform All-in-One DoorLock Bypass Can Bus Module - still looking for a T harness for easy installation.

4) Stellar also makes a bypass module which is the same company that I am using for the remote starter kit, but haven't heard much about this bypass module or if there are any T harnesses available.

Has anyone else done this, and if so, what would you suggest?
Thanks

Steve

Please let us know how you got this done. I have seen threads on here about people wanting it, or looking into it, but I haven't yet seen anyone who has actually done it.
Best of luck on this project !

I bought your package and a friend of mine is working with you to get it going? Still having issues and it has been over 2 weeks trying to get it going. Hopefully it will be done this weekend by doing a "direct wire" connection. If you have the "complete kit" please let me know the price and like I said above, is it guaranteed to work? Do you take your old stuff back in exchange?

I find this thread very interesting. 5 users with 30 or less posts pop up talking about remote starts on a brand new thread. Added to that, this is the first time in all the threads ive read about remote starts that out of nowhere someone selling a remote start pops up. Hmmmm. Anyway, to you "new" guys, any remote start added to the fob is useless, won't work more than 150ft roughly ON THE FOB, not including obstructions, add buildings and whatever else, 50-60 ft. Only good if your car is n front of your office or driveway.

Do you have a problem with new members? You post is borderline offensive. I for one am fully aware of the range limitations of a remote start being tied to my fob. My 05 Cadillac STS had a factory remote on the fob and I had the limitations which was perfectly fine for me. My car only sits in my driveway and I have full line of site at workbook more than 50 feet.

I never really thought much about adding remote start to my M. I had it on my Escalade and I used i a few times when we had guests over and were preparing to drive them somewhere in the mid afternoon heat. Fetucini and I took the M up to the Hamptons for Thanksgiving week at her parents and with the sub-freezing temps, rain, and general mess of weather we had, I really missed it (until we got home and then ... meh).
I'm putting the car in to have the recall repair so I asked my Infiniti guy about the possibilities. He told me Infiniti doesn't make a remote kit for my car and they don't install any of the aftermarket kits either. He also told me that installing a remote start kit voids most car warranties. No idea if that is true but something to check on before you get one installed. I also checked that Ebay link a few posts up, it's no longer available (:
I'll just put the remote start kit back on the rear burner for now.

Infiniti does install remote starters...or at least their dealers contract people to do it. When they do, they continue to cover everything under the warranty since its being done under their authority except the starter itself. If you do it on your own, you don't void your warranty, you only void anything that the starter may have damaged, which they have to prove. At the end of the day, I'm speaking about most dealers in ny,nj,ct since those were the ones I asked to do it when I was looking into it. Also note, getting them to do it is at least $250 more than if you had it done yourself. What I did was find out the installer that a particular dealer uses and contact him directly to save the $300 my dealer was tacking on. This doesn't guarantee my warranty, but at least I know he can do my car blind folded. If anyone is in ny,nj,ct area this guy is Sals Electronics in the westchester area I believe.

My local Infiniti dealer is running a special for $450 for the remote starter using the OEM key fob. Here is something that people have said at Maxima.org:

go to your local install shop, dont trust a best buy or big box retailer, go to local mom and pop where the installers really know what they are doing, ask for these 2 exact parts

Xpresskit DB-ALL and xpresskit THNISS3C

one is the bypass module for the push to start maxima and the other is a t harness made specifically for the maxima, its is literally a plug and play install absolutley no wires need to be cut, i am a proffesional installer with a 09 maxima and this is what i used, it will allow you to start the car by pressing lock 3 times, both peices should retail around 200 total and then whatever price the shop wants to install it

I left the first reply about feeling offended alone, but now a second one popped up so I'll reply.
I really don't care if you feel offended. My statement is clear and concise. It has nothing to do with you being new. It has to do with the odds of so many new people asking for the same things PLUS someone new also selling the item. CLEAR! I find it cheesy and sneaky for someone to masquerade as multiple people in order to drum up business and sell something IF that was the case; and I made a statement insinuating as much IF it was true, I then proceeded to provide help IF it wasn't true, and you all were in fact new members happening to ask for the same thing.
So you can be offended if you want I'll sleep fine tonight...I guess that has to do with your fundamental lack of understanding of a statement. Not my problem.

TDot & mitrals,

1) No need to escalate. We're all after the same thing and any post by new or old members is just words and opinion. The words can only have the power we allow them to have.

2) Thanks for clearing up some obvious mis-information my Infiniti guy told me. I'm wondering why my dealership isn't doing remote starts while other dealerships clearly do them?? I'll have to inquire at some other local Infiniti dealerships and see what's the story. I have three within an hour's drive from my home. This might just be a good Crimbo gift to receive from my g/f !

Would be interesting to know how many members have them installed and for how long, who installed it (if they were affiliated or used by their local Infiniti dealer vs independent shop) and if they had any problems/electrical/starter problems afterwards.

My wife's 2012 Durango has got one and it is nice when you want to heat up or cool down the car ahead of time, especially when you have younger ones who might not tolerate the temperature extremes.

Well, I am not sure about warranties being voided or not, but when I bought my car it had a starter. I got it from a Infiniti dealer...
My car also came with a 1 year warranty on the transmission and engine (pretty basic warranty basic)

I added remote start(no alarm) to my car last week and its been working fine. I have a extra remote that just say start on it(which I don't like but its whatever), its a Excalibur brand. I press the start button twice and it starts the car. I have it programmed to run 15 mins. When I get in the car, the door have to be closed and than you can see the lights around the button go to ACC than on, that's when you hit the brakes to take off.

Well, here's the horror story.

The guy I had install the remote starter has done a lot of them. He followed the instructions from the dball2 and wired it it. It wouldn't work. He then changed the "stellar" remote starter system to a "viper". Still won't start. Lights come on like they are supposed to, the steering column goes down everything, but no power to the starter. He is going to continue working on it with a guy that used to work at Best Buy to see if they can figure it out.

The saga continues!!!

My installer finally got the remote starter working. He used a viper and I have to use a separate remote. Also if I have the headlights in Auto, the remote gets mixed up. Once the car even started itself as I was walking away from the car. So, it is still messed up. I hate to use it as I never know if I will have a Dead battery when I come back out.

Advent is the auto start product that you'll should consider. It will work with the '06+ M's and Infiniti/Nissan vehicle's with push button start too. The product is basic and serves it's primary purpose effectively. Your local Nissan/Infiniti dealership should be able to install this product for you without affecting your B2B warranty.

I found a "plug and play" kit on Amazon and bought it for my 2006 M35X, it was the Dball2 unit with a thniss3 connector cable. I was told I would have to tap 3 of the wires into the BCM module on the right hand side of the car which I did and that the rest of it was plug and play (oh I would have to tap into one wire in the push to start)

I got all the connections made except for the keyport connector plugs, the plugs on my harness do not match that of the keyport connector. After doing some more digging online I see one cable called the THNISS3D and one THNISS3C and the one compatible with my car is the D, has anyone else experienced this? I am wondering if I just got the wrong cable?
