Has anyone tried to retrofit the Versa premium sound subwoofer enslusure to a non premium sound Versa? The sub and enclosure looks like this

After searching the forum, the wiring should be there for all SL models. The Panel will obviously have to be swapped, but has anyone else tried it and noticed more parts are needed?

I don't know if the wiring is in the SLs. I got lazy and just put in a 12" sub box with the amp mounted on it. If I knew about it then I would of done that instead.

I may end up getting an Kenwood equalizer for the stock stereo. There is no mid range equalizer on the stereo or anything else for that matter.

Yes it fits. fairly certain nothing else is needed except the four or five little bolts that secure the sub. The wiring is there, and after you plug in the sub you will find out pretty quick if it is hooked to the deck, you may need to check the equilizer for the sub that is built into the deck manually, by pushing the audio, aux, and tune down buttons at the same time.

Good luck!

Ok, I had never heard of this "equilizer" before so I tried the aud, aux, down thing and got "woofer on" displayed on the screen. Is there more to this? Cuz that's not an equalizer. Is there some way to control the sub beyond the audio settings button?

I have called EverythingNissan.com and also my local dealer parts department, unfortunatly, i have not gotten an answer as to if the panel includes the amp or not. I have gotten an answer to the fact that the panel DOES come with a subwoofer, and the wires are already ran (on SL model).

I was looking online and the panel retails for about $690 (dealer and online), by process of elimination I have determined that the panel DOES come with the subwoofer (still unsure about the amp situation)

An-Answered Questions:1) Does the panel for sure come with the Sub Woofer?2) Does the amp for sure come with the panel?3) Where is the amp located for proper install?4) Are the wires already ran for sub woofer/amp? (Ground, Power, Audio (White&Red)?

THANK YOU VERSA NATION!

Does anyone have any pictures from installation that would reveal what is under the panel (Amp Location, Wires, etc)

the amp is built into the sub enclosure.

The panel and the sub/amp are separate pieces, not sold together. the panel can run up in the 700$ range and here is a link to a nearly 600$ stock woofer.

This is great if you want to keep it stock-ish but unfortunately very expensive. If a person wants minimal bass that this will provide without spending the money, a bass tube with an adjustable built in amp (stock is not adjustable) will do the job more than adequately less than half what the panel will cost you. Or the junk yard is always an option... one never knows what they will find!

the answer to #4 is yes, but not what your describing. this is all included in one six pin connector, colored differently.

This is an easy install after the rear seats are removed, plug and play.

Hopefully you get the answers you are looking for. Good luck.

wow that is pricey you are better off going with an aftemarket setup with a shallow box or even a bazooka tube.

Yea, def. too rich for my blood. I think I am going to go with my alternative until I win the lottery and I can sink a lot of money into my car.

My other option was to buy this "Infinity Basslink". This is a one piece amp/subwoofer that can be installed underneath my drivers seat. Also, its only about $160, compared to $1000+!

I am not looking to break any records in any sound competitions, bass just adds that additional dimension which is nice.

I should probably repost another issue in a different location, but my stock tweeter is blown and needs replaced.

1) What size are the tweeters, can i purchase replacement tweeters that will fit properly? Or Stick with OEM?2) Best way to get to install the new tweeters

THANKS VERSA NATION!

You're better off going with the aftermarket decision. You will get better bang for your buck and it fiscally makes more sense.

Yea thats what my bank account is telling me too. I posted earlier that my tweeter is blown/damaged, but looked into it and it is my 6.5' door speaker is blown. I am going to run through the forum and see if there is any rock solid information on the removal/installation process.

THANKS VERSA NATION!

I have this installed under the drivers seat of my outlander.

It's got a decent punch (for me anyway). I control the level via my aftermarket HU.

Resuscitating this thread. I am trying to do this conversion (I like the stock look, plus I have to carry a stroller and groceries from time to time) . I have 300 bucks to blow on this project. Here in Houston there are a bunch of salvage yards and I will try to get this part through one of them. If I am successfull and find a salvage part, I will post photos. :dblthumb:

No change on the search for this panel. Still looking, still finding ripped woofer panels. Must stay strong, must stay positive.
