I have searched but cannot locate any infor on this. Has their been any problem or can you forcast any problem with installing a Pop Charger and a cat back exhaust? Will this void the extended warrenty? What possible damage can this cause if any? Will there be a noticable power increase?

A pop charger drawing summer underhood heated air will cost you performance and the decline in filtering will wear your engine faster. A true dual exhaust might get you a little power, but the cat-backs alone will not.

Why not save up for a killer set of tires if you want to increase your car's performance?

"Tires" come on, why do some of you always try to stop peoples attempts to increase their enjoyment of their Q's? Most people will get plenty of "performance" from even the lower end tires, how often do any of us go to a track day or push our cars to the limit on a twisty back road? Rarely. I have decent tires and they are fine. The only time I'll need something better are some super sticky rear tires when I get my Q to hit 350-400 hp. (maybe soon )

I used the pop style charger with the filter under the hood for a while and you can tell a big difference when the engine is hot especially in the summer.

Here is a thread I started. I just finished making this CAI and it's much better. We are already up to 100 degrees in Phoenix and the power is much more consistant even after the engine warms up. I am extremely happy with the results. It's a temporary mod as there is a turbo going in at the moment. Time is at a premium so the installs going slow but it's going.

"Member's standards vary." - Q45tech

Tires are the only part of the car that interface with the road, thus most performance gain can be had with a tire quality beyond merely "decent." Just moving to the best summer tire within a brand will usually yield improvements over its all season counterpart. The best tires available have not been on any Q45 since the first couple of years of its introduction or ever on G35 ever to my knowledge.

Just trying to keep the myth quota under control. So many are deceived by misleading advertising (K&N, Stillen, most 3rd party aftermarket resellers).

Maybe you should clarify what you mean by "performance". Unless someone's getting tire spin, tires won't drop your 0-60 time or even your 1/4 mile time. If you mean handling and ride feel to be performance then yes, I agree 100% but that's not what everyone wants when then are looking to increase their fun factor.

And I don't follow most of the claims by K&N, Stillen, etc. I do however, know that a CAI like the one I built will out perform a popcharger like he's got without question. I'm not going to get into another debate over the benefits over OEM.

And by "decent tire" I'm not talking about the 4 for $100 set from Discount tires but you don't have to spend $200-300 a piece to get a good tire. The last two sets I've purchased for my Q were Kuhmo's and I am completely happy with them.
