Recently picked up a Harman Kardan Drive & Play and it is a great way to get your iPOD in your car. I'm using the inline FM tap, but still get some FM interference, especially on the higher frequencies.

Has anyone, or is it possible, to add an auxiliary input jack to this car?

TAKE IT BACK AND BUY THE DIRECT ADAPTER OFF CRUTCHFIELD. IT HOOKS UP TO YOUR AUX/CD INPUT BEHIND YOUR UNIT AND LETS YOU CONTROL THE IPOD WITH THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS, IT IS TOP NOTCH AND SOUNDS JUST LIKE IT SHOULD

I tried Crutchfield, and the website says they don't have an adapter for my vehicle. My Infiniti does not have an aux input in the head unit.

Is it worth a call to Crutchfield to see if they do have one for my vehicle?

but also give them a call just to be certain.

Good luck as I'm looking to do the same thing with my '04.

Just talked to Crutchfield (cat I spoke to who I rec. you reach out to is Skip at ext. 3207) was very knowledgeable on the FM Modulator that I'm going to have to use to hook up my i-pod video.

It's made by Scosche and it's called the Mod 01. It gets hardwired into your antenna and he says it's about the BEST you can get for my situation.

He likens it to the best, most clear FM radio station reception which is a world's difference from the cassette mess I have in there now.

After S/H it's $36.98. I'm going to have it installed and I'll report back.

Do you have the part number for the '04 6 disc changer? I've been trying to find it to see all of the inputs...etc. the system has on it. TIA

I currently use the Harman Kardan inline antenna adapter, but I'm considering trying the Scoshe FM-MOD01 adapter. One difference is the scosche (apparently) blocks out the regular antenna signal when it senses a signal coming from the ipod.

Has anyone tried using an FM booster?

The Scoshe FM-MOD01 blocks out the regular antenna signal (from what the guy at Crutchfield said) via a switch.

I see we're thinking alike because I asked about an FM booster. His response was with the Scosche Mod01 no booster is needed because it operates at the full range legally allowed for an FM signal to be transmitted.

And again, this is just what I was told but he said the system actually can move the signal from the ipod at a better quality but the system has to compress the signal to stay within regulations almost like taking a music file and compressing it into an mp3 just for the sake of size.

I don't like that at all but again, it's better than the cassette option. It gets so bad at times I want to just put on my headphones and drive...

I did find the scosche mod01 cheaper when I did a search but I dig the crutchfield customer service.

Also, if you are planning on buying any additional stuff,

http://dealnews.com/coupons/ca...ec=21

there are coupons on there for crutchfield.

I just spoke to another agent with crutchfield and she says I'll need two ant adapters. I'm going to keep digging because once it's here I want it in and done.

I am in Canada, and Crutchfield canada does not carry the FM01 (damn), so I'm left looking for another source.

So, will you go with the FM01 *and* the booster?

As stated earlier, I'm using the HK FM modulator. I opened up the dash, and disconnected the antenna from the mod, so only the ipod was connected to the antenna.

Quality of the signal is still the same, sounds like a very poor FM station.
