i've heard that on a civic they adjusted/tightened the throttle cable and it gave about 15 hp extra, which is very very nice, but i dunno if true, anyways, would it be possible with a ka24de? just wondering, cause i'd be nice to do, and cheap, cause i cant get my intake just yet, thanks, matt

the only way that might help is if your throttle isn't opening all the way. take your intake tract off and have someone floor the gas (with the engine off). if the valve isn't horizontal (relative to the throttle body), adjust it until it is.

as a side effect this may up your idle.

hmm, i though it was too good to be true, but ive read giving the cable more tension gives u better throttle response

that's such bull..lol..the deal goes..some civics(i think it was newer years)....had a looser throttle cable to make it feel more like an old lady car of the line.....it just makes the throttle respond a little bit quicker....no 15 hp or anyhting like that...amazing all these hondas getting 15 hp from nothing and 15 from an intake..25 from exhaust..damn i gotta get me a honda!

lol, yea, about hondas, im polish, so if i ever go into the polish part of town at night, every few cars is a civic or other honda with a farter. about cable, so basiclly, if i tighten it to about 1/8 of an inch slack, i'll be good to go, or just odnt touch it at all?

no they "got back" 15hp that they were missing because at full pedal travel the throttle body was probably only 75% open due to a loose cable. Every car I get has a sick amount of slack in the cable and I have to tighten it up, not to tight though. I also check the carpet under the gas pedal and make sure the carpet isn't bunched up under keeping me from fully depressing the pedal. It's free power, go check it!;)

ya....those sound like honduh numbers. and i'll bet when he gets an intake it'll add at least another 30. Maybe improved throttle response, but they're right: unless the plate wasn't opening right to begin w/, it's total BS
