I want to add bluetooth to a '09 2.5S sedan. Is the microphone prewired to the overhead console, and do I need to change the standard single CD radio to the Bose or other? Or, add some other component(s)?

Thanks,J1

Yeah you're gonna need a new deck if you want bluetooth. I'm sort of scared to touch mine because the trim goes all the way around the air vents and if i remove it I would hate to have a nasty looking gap. Either that or you can have some blootooth dongle going through your auxiliary port. But honestly nobody likes loose cables.

Actually calling around a bit. Best buy, and Car Toys sell special installation kits that include the wiring harness and the trim kit.

Some of the upscale GPS’s come with Bluetooth capabilities. Your phone can be used thru the GPS. This is a nice work around then trying to add Bluetooth to the car.

Buy a Jabra SP700 for $40 @ eBay. They wanted to charge me almost $1000 for installing one in my 2008 V6 Altima. But, if you wanna go OEM and you have the money, go for it.

I use a bluetooth mirror car kit, it comes with caller id and a speakerphone.

It also has a detachable ear piece ( I don't really like it ), adjustable volume and a thin anti glare glaze over it.

You can find some on ebay, complete with the charger for it. However be wary, some of them require to be plugged in at all times.

It can also transmit on to the radio and record about 30s of conversation at the touch of a button.

It clips over the existing rearview mirror and it fits in my 2.5 S Altima.
